Every person needs to ask themselves every day:

Do I enrich the lives of those around me? Or do I enrich myself at the expense of those around me?

At its core, this is what separates good from evil.

I taught civics a long time ago. I used to tell students, "a vote isn't a valentine". But also: A VOTE ISN'T A REVIEW. Protest votes or (lack of votes) won't punish or reward any politician (and it certainly won't "send a message"), but it could make life really terrible for you, or for someone you love. Vote with your brain and your heart. #uspol

The number of people who were already absolutely committed to voting for Biden saying we have to stick with him after last night is tiresome already.

How did Biden beat the incumbent last time? Turnout. People were terrified after 4 years of crazy and a million Covid dead.

What is Biden not going to get this November after being so dull and uninspiring? After inflation. After a much more coherent Trump campaign. After people have forgotten? After young people and Israel? Turnout.

Soooo many people are posting along the lines of "Why isn't anyone calling for to drop out?" My feed is full of this sentiment over and over.

And, like, do you people even understand what year it is?

The man led an insurrection.

Calling for to drop out is appealing to his sense of duty and responsibility to the collective. Trump doesn't even know what those words mean.

"Why isn't anyone calling for the convicted felon to drop out?" isn't pithy or original. It's just naive and sad.

NC today only reached the already faithful voters. Last night reached the whole world. The weakness displayed last night is what the majority of voters saw. Don’t get me wrong - I’m voting democratic, but I personally know many who won’t vote for Biden or Trump. They can’t fathom either choice. They will however vote for a different democratic candidate if they are given that option. From where I’m standing, Biden gave the presidency to Trump last night. And that’s terrifying. #Election #Debate

Here's the reason I'm so pissed off and sad after last night:

Before the debate, I could say to moderates and disillusioned Republicans (including ones in my family): "Look, I know you don't like Trump, but the best way to get rid of him and get back to normal conservatism is to repudiate him by electing a normal competent leader. You may not always agree with Biden, but you can trust that he's at least stable and smart enough to do the job."

Now, though? The best I can say is "Yeah, both candidates suck, right? Might as well stay home." Because there's no way in hell they'd bite for that first argument anymore.

As we approach the last weekend of this year's pride month ... many thanks to all of you who are allies ... we appreciate you.

"Fiercely" is an interesting adjective to choose.

Good morning. It's 7AM, Friday, 28th June. The headlines: During the CNN Presidential #Debate, #Biden and #Trump fiercely debated topics such as th...

Wow. Biden set the bar so fucking low that Trump was able to blow past it without a single true fact on his side.

This debate is like ChatGPT vs a waterlogged print copy of the World Book.

Just had an idea for the most viable 3rd party concept in the history of :

The NO-SPAM Party. Our platform is simple: We will aggressively pursue any means possible, including executive, legislative, or judicial action, to limit or eliminate unwanted texts, calls, and emails. None of our candidates will ever contact you, unsolicited, for political donations.

On all other issues, we'll defer to the non-weasely career bureaucrats and renowned experts who actually know what the fuck they're doing.

TFW you get a random email that starts out being heavily complimentary of your work on a project...

...before realizing that the name of the project was the most specific the praise ever got.

Fuckin spammers, man.

If they can't get the Trump v USA decision out by tomorrow, we should just impeach the lot of them.

It would be so great if Trump were asked questions at tonight's debate like "What do the letters in NATO stand for?" and "In which century was Frederick Douglass alive?" zeteo.com/p/10-debate-question

An election reminder. If you can't vote for the candidate you want because they won't get enough support to win then vote against the one you don't want by voting for the candidate best placed to beat them. You don't have to like them personally, just want to take a step along the road.

The game "Last Train Home" has a low key joke that had me in stitches...

One of the characters remarks offhand: "Winter came. Who would've guessed?"

When I was in middle school, I had a shoplifting problem, along with some bad-influence friends. It started small, some M&Ms or binaca (which was weirdly popular in my middle school back then). But, as I kept getting away with it, I kept upping the ante. Eventually, it was my brazenness that got me caught. I thoroughly learned my lesson and never stole again.

I think about that sometimes when I read stories like this about a 43-year-old man sending shamelessly explicit texts to teenage boys... What led to his brazenness?

Man, I need a sequel to The Old Guard already. There just aren't enough movies with two equally strong-but-flawed female protagonists and a gay couple kicking ass.
