I really hope he reads this. I liked seeing his painting updates. Thank you for offering him a drama free alternative Guinan:)

@wilw Wil, I don't know if you will be reading this but I figure I might as well do it.

I love both. Star Destroyers, Borg Cubes? What is not to absolutely love? It's a cinematic feast for the eyes:) (Just keep Lucas away from the editing for heavens sake!)

I am very deliberately non political on Mastadon because I am extremely political on Twitter. Honestly, I love it here because I can be more myself.

I will say this though about politics, no matter who wins in the end, we all have to live with one another afterwards.

I think people need to remember that and at least try and work towards a dialogue where some working together can be accomplished.

Granted, I sometimes lose patience but I try to practice what I preach as much as possible.

3D printed Labyrinth tabletop gaming! And I am in love with the trees this guy has made! ❤️

@arteteco @freemo @Surasanji I can pass my hand through a yellow flame of a bunsen burner and feel nothing more than a warmth on my hand, and if I am quick, I can do the same passing my hand through the flames of a fire. I can judge the heat of a flame by its colour. I know the fire will burn me if I am too slow, or if the flame is too hot. Some people need to experience these things for themselves to understand the nature of fire. Only then can they really appreciate the fact that fire WILL burn the shit out of them if they aren't careful with it.

@Ahriman Our brains are pretty good at working out new connections until they become second nature to us. I started to lose the sensation and strength in my hands a long time ago, and my husband set me up with a modified mouse and gamepad so I could continue to play computer games and paint digitally rather than using conventional means. Now I do it without even thinking with barely perceptible movements. It is truly amazing just how much our mind and body can adjust to using tools.

@Ahriman You might be interested in this technology to go along with it then:) There is a lot of exciting stuff going on in the field at the moment. I started branching out into this area of study because of a friend that is potentially going to be needing a prosthetic arm at some point, and I got hooked on some of the possibilities.

It's a few months old, but I found this interesting:) I am really curious to see where prosthetics are going to go in the next few years with developments like this ❤️

Let's give @lvl39nerd a bit of love. Met him on discord last year, awesome guy and knows about books. Still had an account laying around so he logged in yesterday but I imagine it to be really boring without any connections and I love him a lot.
Thank you guys!

I know modcloth is now owned by walmart, but this dress has both #pockets and #math and it's testing my resolve. Anyone have alternative nerdy dress recommendations?

Hello ,
I am and this is my .
I am Madhur, an Indian engineer with many interests: chess, philosophy, maths, science, politics, fountain pens; trying a shot at writing.

Qoto's ad on the birdsite, mentioning its character limit (2^16-1) sold it to me, besides the fact that it focuses on STEM. One can basically post a decent sized novel here, or an essay, or a research paper here. I intend to use it for something like that.

One may also find me at the birdsite as @MadhurVarshney@Twitter.com, or as @Muo.

@Surasanji @InvaderXan I like frogs legs. That's probably the most exotic food I have ever eaten. They remind me of the chicken I used to eat when I was young, before it was really mass produced. Very good flavour when done Cantonese style:)

@Surasanji @InvaderXan I'm curious btw Dave, what turned you on to the idea of trying Birds Nest soup? 🤔
