Paintings inspired by particle trails. Acrylic on canvas.
These have been a favourite thing of mine to paint for years! I find something about lines very aesthetically pleasing, and painting them is incredibly soothing. #art #artists #painting

I am a high school senior in the United States. Should I pursue a degree in Computer Science? If so, what are any misconceptions about it? Thanks in advance!

For mastodon.social users:

Dogpiling and harassment are off-limits no matter how justified you think you are. The rules are for everyone.

Strongly considering adding screenshot-dunking to the code of conduct as well. We don't need that culture here.

@wilw You should come to we wouldn't ban you and everyone would love to have you here.

Hi!

I study photonic engineering. My current main interest is in physical phenomena, including Fourier optics, holography, light sources (e.g. lasers) and optical components (e.g. LCDs).

What do you think of a non-invasive brain interface?

It's a few months old, but I found this interesting:) I am really curious to see where prosthetics are going to go in the next few years with developments like this ❤️

Let's give @lvl39nerd a bit of love. Met him on discord last year, awesome guy and knows about books. Still had an account laying around so he logged in yesterday but I imagine it to be really boring without any connections and I love him a lot.
Thank you guys!

I know modcloth is now owned by walmart, but this dress has both #pockets and #math and it's testing my resolve. Anyone have alternative nerdy dress recommendations?

Hello ,
I am and this is my .
I am Madhur, an Indian engineer with many interests: chess, philosophy, maths, science, politics, fountain pens; trying a shot at writing.

Qoto's ad on the birdsite, mentioning its character limit (2^16-1) sold it to me, besides the fact that it focuses on STEM. One can basically post a decent sized novel here, or an essay, or a research paper here. I intend to use it for something like that.

One may also find me at the birdsite as @MadhurVarshney@Twitter.com, or as @Muo.

one of my favorite animals is the jerboa, a kind of rodent that is well adapted to living in desert environments. they are less than six inches long (excluding tail) and no more than a few ounces.

they are quick and nippy little guys, and jump and run in a zig zag fashion to escape predators. if startled, they can jump up to ten feet in length

they do not live well in captivity, but one day I hope to see one in person. I think they look like mini kangaroos!
