I've been reading a lot of disturbing news recently in regards to the Shoah (Holocaust) where European nations are passing laws, or opening museums that minimizes the acts of their governments and peoples.

In Poland and Hungary, most recently. This is revisionist history of the worst kind. People need to see that once, in the past, anyone considered undesirable in their society was marched to death camps.

They need to see the ugly truth of their nation's past and present.

You ever have one of those days where you wake up and you're just like physically super heavy?

You're not tired, but just.. heavy. Like gravity is particularly strong on your limbs today.

Gooood night ! Time for bed, and only at 4am. Early for me!

So, looks like Bert and Ernie on Sesame Street aren't gay after all? I mean, aren't all puppets a little bit gay, what with having someone's hand up inside them at pretty much all times?

I was trying to explain to a friend in lamens terms why dark matter is so hard to detect while other weakly interacting particles were a bit easier (like neutrinos). It all comes down to mass.

If you could only interact with an object by blowing on it (an analogy for weak interactions) you could easily influence a fast moving feather (an analogy for a light neutrino). However if it were a bowling ball you can blow on it all you want and it wouldn't be effected at all (an analogy for Dark Matter).

@coyotesqrl @Surasanji This might not be standard, but it's also not terribly uncommon. The highest-rated burger in my hometown has peanut butter and hot peppers.

Asked my friend who's life he'd live if he could live any life throughout history. He replied "That rat that died from pressing the dopamine button too many times".

@Surasanji Peanut butter and Sriracha on a burger. It hints at Thai flavors.

@Surasanji

Peanut butter and bologna.

Peanut butter and cheese.

Mac & cheese with ketchup.

Salami or ham with cream cheese and pickles.

There are others but I am struggling to remember at the moment.

@Surasanji I add blended green olives (paste) and a dark beer (like Guinness) to my Pasta Sauce. The beer counters the tart taste of the olives. Perfect way to add olive flavor to a sauce.

@Surasanji I love fried eggs with sriracha sauce and soy sauce. I also love marshmallow fluff and peanut butter sandwiches.

@Surasanji Instant noodles cooked with cheese spread, Tabasco, and heeng (asafoetida).

So far the few people who have tasted it, have liked its taste more than the standard preparation. Everyone of them. As they say - everything tastes better with cheese.

Hey there and !

Hope you're all having a fantastic day! Lovely blue skies here in Tel Aviv, a day I'm wishing I could lay out in the sun and just enjoy it. I've got work, unfortunately, but that can be nice, too.

So, for today is as follows:

What is a combination of foods you've discovered that maybe isn't standard and might sound a little odd. You gotta love it, though.

I've got a thing for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on toast with hot sauce.

So, the holiday is over now. Radios are reawakening, local televisions are resuming broadcast. Buses and cars are running on the streets instead of children.

Until next year, Yom Kippur.

After yesterday's 16 km (10 mile) ride I was very sore even at the beginning and my pace was really slow for this 🚲 ride. But I managed to get in 21 km (13 miles) and at a really good heart rate too. Thats technically a half-marathon! Considering it was two days in a row I'll take it as a win.

@Surasanji
Germany is just shut down every sunday for the very same reason. Well and easter and such.

We're coming in to Yom Kippur here in Israel- and even in Tel Aviv, the bastion of secularism shuts down. The whole city shuts down- it's a little crazy, to be honest.

Major cities shut down because of a holiday. I'm not into the holiday part of it, but I love the cultural aspect of it.
