@fluffykittycat @Parasite the Economist is economically illiterate, and has been for some time (it's also transphobic AF). It's just recycled right-wing journalism tropes. With inflation at the moment it is quite clearly being driven by an increase in prices at the point of supply (due to higher resource costs), not by wages going up too much, but the Economist is so economically illiterate it doesn't even grasp that very basic concept.

Austrian merchant, amateur astronomer and selenographer Rudolf König died #OTD in 1927.
Such was his interest in astronomy that in 1906 he built a private observatory on top of his house in Vienna, equipping it with a double Zeiss astrograph with which he carried out many observations of the Moon. 1) Pseudonym support.
Attention dumbasses: stage names and pen names have been realities of the business of being an artist for over 2,000 years.
Creators are not shoe salesmen.
The most basic functionality of any platform that intends to support *creators* earning money online – the basic, rock-bottom, sine qua non affordance – is people doing business using pseudonyms.
What that ACTUALLY means is the platform has to allow creators (the people who charge money) to be PSEUDONYMOUS (to use their stage name or pen names) in all of their interactions with their patrons (the people paying the money), AND the platform, which is legally required to know the legal identity of the creator and have on file their relevant tax ID numbers (e.g. SSN in the US), needs to keep that legal identity CONFIDENTIAL.
I almost never post over here, but since @FleurC told me to, here is my piece of mind for the day:
People are fucking annoying, much often they are nothing more than a source of stress and **anger** because they cannot understand how to change their worldview.

@freemo @gpowerf That would surely expose you to a whole lot more of it, but as i said it's perspective, the way we interact is also different with things. As @gpowerf said there are many variables to take into account.
I think one thing QOTO has going for it, in favor of making things less hostile is that we have more than 1k words to express our opinions, so we are in a much better and more complex environment which allows for a better expression of our beliefs.
@freemo @gpowerf I have seen other servers and tho there can be aggression, it is surely not to the extent of Facebook, Twitter or Reddit where people hunt down your history and shame you and then decide to get you fired for an opinion they disliked.
But I have had bickerings on here with certain people, it's just a matter of perspective and experience.
