> Breaking up Prolonged Sedentary Behavior to Improve Cardiometabolic Health in the Real World
The idea is to interrupt the daily sedentary lifestyle with regular breaks of exercise. This begs the question for whom this would benefit and if its beneficial for all professions.
In regards to #DeepWork and being in the flow state, it might be counter productive. Though on the other hand, it could align nicely with the #PomodoroTechnique.

Do you occasionally pour yourself a cup of liquid like water in the dark?
To make sure it doesn't overflow, just stick a finger in the cup and at first sense of it getting wet, stop the pouring.

Who should do a #GORUCK event?
GORUCK events are for anyone who wants to learn in a sandbox environment.
In team events, #leadership and #TeamWork are in the forefront of learnings, though also putting yourself in uncomfortable situations and see if the obstacle will break you.
For lots just showing up is a hurdle to overcome, since you are intently putting yourself in an unfamiliar situation.
Then initially you will meet lots of strangers with lots of different personalities and beliefs. These are your team mates for the next x hours. Can they rely on you or are you able to rely on them.
A basic requirement is for each participant to carry their load to their current capacity. This doesn't just mean to stubbornly carry your load to failure, but also be open for help and let your mate help you out. Because if you cannot continue further then you become an additional burden for the team. Sometimes it is wise to swallow your pride and/or ego to not become a hindrance.
Most people are not born leaders and everyone can benefit from practicing leadership in the field. On the flip side, lots that think that they are good leaders can benefit from being lead. This is an area of learning of knowing when it is the right time to step up your game and when to lay back.
The harmony between being the delegator and delegatee creates the best dynamic to get the team the furthest. And the team is only as strong as its weakest member.

What kind of #GORUCK events exist?
There are two types of events: individualistic and as a team.
Examples of _individualistic_ ones are:
- Selection, a 48h event of you against the Cadre with a success rate of less than 1%.
- Buddy Assessment, you and a buddy tackle a 48h event against the Cadre.
Examples of _team_ ones are:
- Basic, 6h event,
- Tough, 12h event,
- Heavy, 24h event,
- etc.
After successfully achieving an event, you get a patch.
Further there are combination events, which are not directly mentioned on the GORUCK's event page. These are events that are structured within a small time frame like a weekend. E.g.:
- HTB, Heavy Tough Basic
- HH, double Heavy
- BBB, triple Basic
- STB, Star course (long distance scavenger hunt) Tough Basic
These events are for those who want an additional challenge and usually there is an additional patch.

What is #GORUCK?
GORUCK is a company that is trying to popularize the #rucking sport.
More info at https://www.goruck.com/pages/about-goruck
How does GORUCK try to popularize rucking?
They try to do this in three main ways:
1. They offer equipment and apparel to ease your rucking experience.
2. They offer events where Cadre from various U.S. special forces areas lead events with a core focus on rucking.
3. They offer the idea of #community to create #RuckClub|s.
These three ways interlink with one another by having the community keeping you in check of your basic fitness level and giving you resources to prepare for the next event.
The events teaching you various skills that you can use outside of the sandbox event experience from mental fortitude to #TeamWork and #leadership skills. Where as the apparel and equipment marketed as the ideal gear for such events.
And apparel and gear being worn by the participants while being freely marketed by them as well.
Caveat: the apparel and gear is quite pricey though it has lifetime warranty.

Do you fly occasionally during dusk hours and have a window seat? Then you have the potential to gather street lamp information.
Take your phone out and record the world from above.
Of course good weather conditions need to exist and aligning the gathered data with the map might have an initial learning curve.

The consequence of constantly being reminded/required to take the packing list items, puts you into a routine of subconsciously taking it everywhere.
Some of the items that I always have with me are:
- IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit)
- headlamp with extra batteries
- power bank with USB cable
- hydration either via #nalgene bottle or #source bladder
#DailyBloggingChallenge (64/100)
What you should know before a #GORUCK event?
The packing list is a requirement and in most events the organizer (aka Cadre) will check if every participant has brought everything.
If you failed to bring an item, the team (you and the other participants) will pay for it and love you afterwards.
Thus some participants take extra and check if everyone brought the packing list.
Some items are illogical to have like a headlamp during a day event and even in this situation better safe than sorry.

Hypothesis: As cramming for a final one can cram for fitness.
The idea is to shock the body just enough that one gets sore after each #workout without injuring oneself.
The workouts would structured in such a fashion that they cover all potential #exercise|s during the #fitness challenge.
As already known by cramming for a final is not the ideal way, though it is a potential last resort of passing. And considering that for most fitness events there is an financial investment, passing suffices.

#TIL that the convenience that one gets using `forEach` do not outweigh the performance lost.
In comparison the standard `for`-loop within #JavaScript performs the most(*) operations per second and `forEach` the least ([Source](https://jsbench.me/7ejagsewtr)). *: To squeeze even more performance one should cache the length of the array.
Further it should be considered to convert all other `for` operators like `for... in` or `for... of` to the standard `for`-loop.
Although these performance differences matter when iterating through larger numbers. Thus, one could argue on the smaller scale that the convenience makes sense. Though this could harden bad #coding practices for the future.

The #PetProject continues with a custom date picker instead of using a predefined component from #vue to learn more how the library is built.
Also chose to use the #fetchAPI over #axios, mainly because I am more familiar with the former. With this the app has HTTP access and converts the XML response from OSM to JSON.

#TIL if you want to simplify your #StreetComplete experience while doing the "What name does the entity have?" quest, just use the same keyboard as the country uses.
If the country's alphabet is Latin character based, then you won't lose time switching between the keyboards. The only thing that could be annoying is auto complete, which probably is more of a #SCEE concern, since it is typical to go in and edit the tags.
Welcome to Mastodon! It's a laid back place. But here's a few simple rules you must follow:
1. Make an account on every instance and create a unique introduction post for each one.
2. Put a content warning on any post that includes the word "moist".
3. Always use the hashtag #freethewhales. Otherwise, we will assume you are in favor of whale incarceration.
4. When browsing Mastodon, please wear a helmet. Safety first.
5. Tell five of your friends to join. Yes, it's a pyramid scheme.
@barefootstache alternatively, multiple profiles on Firefox, or another browser that offers the feature. Configure different about:config and uBlock Origin privacy/convenience tradeoffs based on how much you trust the websites you'll visit on that profile, and you get all or nearly all the benefits without having the friction cost of different interfaces and keybindings. Plus a profile is tiny compared to a whole 'nother browser, so you're saving disk space too.

Account #isolation #security (continues)
Account isolation doesn't just have to be on the device level, but can also be done on the software level like the #browser.
The benefit of using multiple browsers is that #cookies cannot cross browsers: making the pesky #trackers be browser bound and making browser fingerprinting harder to achieve. This will give oneself an edge on personal data protection.
Some browsers have the option to use containers, though it can feel like the overview is quickly lost and potentially it could be a bigger strain on the device.
Browser suggestions:
- #Firefox
- #LibreWolf
- #DuckDuckGo
- #Tor
- #Safari
- #Vanadium
- #Brave
- #Edge
- #Chrome
One should choose the browser dependent on the login credentials one will be using. For example if one will be using Google services like #Gmail or #YouTube, then the obvious choice is Chrome.

Account #isolation #security
Account isolation security is when one does specific tasks with specific accounts.
Situation:
Let's say one got a work laptop and one wants to use it privately as well. The best would be to set up three accounts/users: root, work, and personal. This way one has a clear cut between the three scenarios.
This also comes with the mental fortitude of creating a new location for every task at hand and thereby using the strategy of priming to create an environment to set the tone.
I am a strong proponent of leaving this planet better behind than when I arrived on it. Thus to get the most bang for a lifetime my key focus is #longevity which I attempt to achieve with #nutrition specifically #plantbased.
Longevity is good and all as long as you are not frail and weak. Ideally would be to die young at an old age. Thus I incorporate tactics from #biohacking and #primalfitness. Additionally I am an advocate of #wildcrafting, which is a super set of #herbalism.
Studied many fields of science like maths or statistics, though the constant was always computer science.
Currently working as a fullstack web developer, though prefer to call myself a #SoftwareCrafter.
The goal of my side projects is to practice #GreenDevelopement meaning to create mainly static websites. The way the internet was intended to be.
On the artistic side, to dub all content under the Creative Commons license. Thereby, ideally, only using tools and resources that are #FLOSS #OpenSource. #nobot
