> All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.
@iron_bug
i believe everyone is an idiot :) less drastic but eye opening: people went mad against their neighbor because some talking head on tv told them they'd keel over from covid at any second.
It was a very subtle way to expose that democracy is a veil of ignorance, the puppet masters' legitimacy that they shouldn't have. And that it doesn't matter if they have that excuse or not, freedom for the masses is not an option.
Freedom is in effect; Leave me alone, your geopolitical nonsense doesn't concern me.
And the psychopaths "in power" can't have that, for (to me) some unknown reason.
@PonyPanda or absolutely liberal and libtard :)
Göring: Why, of course, the people don't want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship.
Gilbert: There is one difference. In a democracy, the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars.
Göring: Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.
@Nazareno almost everyone here is absolutely pissed right now. look at their faces, they just signed a deal for "more dead conscripts" on both sides while throwing their own population in front of the bus and are fucking smirking. absolutely despicable.

> Do you have a huge 100GB database and you want to clean up old stuff? Sorry, you can't. There are some non-official solutions for compacting the events, but they're all likely to break your db - and none worked so far in my case.

fair enough, room state doesn't get purged.
> Did you start your instance by toying with the default SQLite backend, and now that it's become big you want to move to Postgres? Sorry, no official guides provided, only unofficial procedures scattered across a bunch of blogs.
https://github.com/element-hq/synapse/blob/develop/docs/postgres.md#porting-from-sqlite
did that, worked fine.
> Do you want to change the name of your server? Sorry, you can't. All the events are tightly coupled to your server name. The advised solution is to simply start a new instance.
you can't just change half of an accounts identifier. you can't with other protocols like activitypub or mail either. they could add an event for account migration though, as clean solution.
like other software and protocols, matrix definitively has it's flaws (like that big groupchat rooms suck) but does other things right as well.
Todays dinner: Salmon with boiled potatoes, carrot and broccoli..
And i can't believe how easy it is to do these kind of uncomplicated dishes...2 years ago i had the dinner-delivery-service from the commune, where they deliver a meal each day - and that's like 400bucks/month...i'm learning new things, easy things, and i'm saving money:
Wenn das wahr ist, wäre das wieder so ein #ÖRR Skandal. Das #ZDF soll hier auf eine Bauerndemo ein fremdes Transparent eingeschleust haben, um damit demofremde politische Botschaften zu filmen. Die Demonstranten wehren sich aber gegen derartige Manipulation ihres Protests.
Kennt ihr den Film "wage the dog" mit Robert de Niro? Schaut man hin euch mal an.
