I just explained to the EU #OpenSource Workshop why the "open" in open source and open #standards mean different things. The first indicates the work product is freely usable. The second indicates the standardisation process is accessible on equal terms by all.

Good heavens! That section of the talk page certainly makes it clear now the kind of thing that's going on. It really is just a Paula Don't Like You List, which is a fine thing for Paula to have, but it distresses me that it's being advertised as some kind of centralized list that people can use.
Even though it says that everyone using it should check every item, people are lazy, and some aren't going to do that.
The point that no mod should be that lazy is well taken, so maybe any such servers are no great loss anyway, but I feel sorry for their users.
One of the things I've tentatively concluded in my journey from teenage libertarianism to old-guy leftism, is that being nice to shitty people is in some cases a bad idea. :)
But regardless, as Jon says, preventing all of one's users from seeing qoto, not because of anything actually on the server, but in order to indirectly pressure its mod to behave differently, seems to be a pretty weird set of priorities to me.

Twitter was never a positive "public square". For any of us. The last thing we should do is treat the #Fediverse as a Twitter 2.0.
We had to deal with violent neo-Nazi radicals there.
They endangered our children.
They publicized our home addresses.
They threw swarms of racist trolls into our replies.
We need to defend our community.
We need to encourage moderation and constant vigilance.
The only place that is truly safe is the place we make safe through effort.
We safeguard ourselves.

If rail workers do end up engaging in a wildcat or otherwise illegal strike, PLEASE remember that strikes are meant to be disruptive. If you see someone talking about the rail strike and how it's having such a huge impact, say things like "Yeah, it's crazy how much of our economy relies on them. That's why they deserve good health care."
