@shahaan@mastodon.social You are very welcome! 😺

I love good headphones, and it's ncie to discover a local source.

Would recommend a portable amplifier too, the phones need more power to deliver higher volume than a protable or computer sound card usually delivers.

I have a FiiO Q1 and it's great. The company has other models, newer, and also a GREAT Android music Player app.

Manufacturer page. lost of models! fiio.com/amp

Music App is here: fiio.com/app

And -- they make Players too. fiio.com/player

@freemo

Thanks for the tips! Will try with a dried up bud next time. I do feel I got the results to be expected from the quantity processed.

It seems different, as the rate of delivery is different, slower absorption versus faster lung tissue one.

And it tasted good to boot. 😉

@salad_bar_breath

Just discovered a Canadian source for our hifi cravings. BIG listing of headphone models.

Located in Montréal, Québec. No crossborder fees added.

Spent some nice relaxing and quality time last night. Brought down the headphones, connected them to a portable amp and listened to some great music.

Full sized headphones can be wonderful. Some HiFi pron imagery for your Wednesday morning/evening pleasure.

@Sphinx You are very welcome. 😉

It's wonderful how we can access so much music nowadays. Even with a free account, these services open the door to unimaginable variety and content.

@Sphinx Have you seen The Carpenters Christmas Album? Always a favourite here, had the CD for many years.

@xennobe

an interesting conversation. The person who wrote the text xennobe copied here will have a hell of a time meeting a compatible possible partner.

Some compromising needed.

It's lovely to use lower profile messaging systems, I tried and liked Telegram, but for any messaging software, not having contacts makes it dead and sterile. 😔

best is software that is available across platforms; doesn't force you to be in a mobile device (like Whatsapp) to install and use it.

Some companies do make the effort to offer cross platform tools, avoiding the enclosed garden mentality.

@georgia

friends don't ask friends to install proprietary software

@binsrc Wow.

Nobody got it right, then. Telling and asking for help makes perfect sense, yes.

@mngrif Not cheap, but there are may choices. Seems to be the same cable as the HD6xx line, which is popular. Got to look in AliExpress, but my current cable is still working.

amazon.ca/s?k=Replacement+Audi

@mngrif That cable looks good and the price is right.

Have you seen or shopped at Monoprice? Thye have high quality gear, tons of levels and fair prices.

Used and recommend them, even network cabling gear I got from there.

and a more focused search:

@mngrif Ah, thank you.

I have frequented audio forums in the past, still have many of the devices and gear I acquired over the years.

Tons of gear and toys, we just need time to focus and enjoy some simple things, like laying down and running a nice playlist or two.

@Surasanji I think those are fine, fine choices on what to do with one's time! 😺

@freemo @Abijah7454
Hello Abijah, and welcome to Qoto.

Enjoy the network and all it has to offer. If you are new to using Mastodon, there's a good guide here: lifehacker.com/a-beginner-s-gu

Have a good day!

@mngrif I was listening to music last night, and brought down the big headphones, portable amp and all the cablery needed to connect them all together. These can get messy and be damaged, specially the finer headphone lines, like you mentioned.

Good thing is that they have connectors at both ends, and can be replaced fairly easy if you get the correct part. Price could be a problem, so shopping carefully is needed.

I remember reading and enjoying some reviews about high end audio cabling, done with pure silver conductor. Lovely looking too, and a very fine conductor material. Not cheap, though.

Post a link to the cable you were looking at?

@freemo

Those make perfect sense, I will need to try for the finest possible shredding. Drying up a small quantity, like the needed amount for a joint at that moment, seems a bit more complicated. How to do it, being such a small amount?

Got to report that it worked as expected, given the amount used; the usual I would prepare and roll by hand.

This saved the unpleasant smells in the room, clothing, etc. Nothing objectionable by housemates or close neighbours.

Glad we are having this conversation!

@salad_bar_breath

@freemo
No, I didn't dry it, just took an average sized bud from sealed glass storage, it was still sticky with resin. Broke it up with findertips and nails, trying for the finest possible shred. Then used the small knife on the photo to chop any of the larger pieces in half.

Fineness I think would be important, also the contact/extration time for the oil to work, longer being better. Warming up the oil, seems a nice idea, got to try that. Next experiment coming soon!

A lot nicer, less messy, no stinking the house, the clothing, unlike the smoking method (where I feel the need to leave and do it outdoors or on the shed in backyard.

Really enjoying the ideas and discussions we get involved here in the fediverse. :thumbsup_hmn_h2:

@salad_bar_breath

@susi123 I think many of them do, Susi. Me too, and in a good sense.

Hope you find that someone to fulfill that.

Good morning/evening! 🌄 🇳🇪
