@angedestenebres Wonderful that TeDomum is being successful and growing, Ange. If I can help in preparing some of those translations, or otherwise, let me know.

I love to see the cooperation you all have in getting so many services freely available. Thank you!

The Power of Neutron Stars - SEA (Youtube)

When stars many times larger than our sun go supernova, their cores do not always collapse to form black holes. Some are not large enough to collapse to form a singularity, but instead shrink to an object the size of a city - a neutron star, which generates the strongest magnetic field in the universe. In this video, we will learn about their history, their variations, and the science behind it.

@design_RG Thanks for your post and the translation.

I added a link to this post in our documentation in "useful link" (liens utiles in French) on our wiki : forge.tedomum.net/tedomum/docu

@angedestenebres Ah, wonderful, I am glad you liked it, Ange.

I really enjoyed the challenge of getting it done. Feel free to copy my translation directly into your Wiki if you like.

Very happy with my blog at TeDomun.net - Merci!

* Write.freely blog - a guide for new users *

Ange made a nice and illustrated guide for new users of Write.freely blogs, but it's all in French.

Goal is to help people interested in using the write.freely instance at TeDomum.net — which has been my blog's home. This morning I took some time and translated her guide to English.

Now the page is on my blog: write.tedomum.net/rgx/write-fr

@realcaseyrollins@civiq.social @realcaseyrollins Yes, it's time consuming and difficult to bulid a totally new idea into a platform - Eugen did really well, but the work is ongoing, continues and he dedicates himself to that full time.

With school and work at the same time, it's hard for you to take on anything like that. But keep the idea and maybe mention it if you find someone who could take it on and succeed.

If you think about creating a personal instance, I would suggest GlitchSoc -- it's the cutting edge of mastodon development and has many nice new features. Like it a lot!

No, not until Opera version 12 or so -- until them, Opera had always been an independant team, pushing the envelop and innovating a lot.

Their browser was wonderful, and a favourite for Power Users at the time. Great customization option, they invented many new things now spread to other browsers, like Mouse Gestures, for example.

Part of the original Opera team left and now run the Vivaldi browser project, where they continue the tradition of catering to power user and customization galore.

Vivaldi is sadly a bit Chromium based too, it's difficult to pursue an independant rendering engine nowadays. Even Microsoft gave up on EdgeHTML, which is a very nice one.

@Hedieh @realcaseyrollins

@ae Your photos are always so amazing, great detail, well done. do you mind if we reuse for blog post headers for example?

@jump_spider Got to bookmark that, don't know anything about css atm; learning in the near future likely. TY!!

@shibaprasad @inditoot I am completely on the desktop, laptop, Real computer preferred field.

There's just no way I could even think about doing what I do on a mobile phone with any apps. They have a place as light and compact devices, but don't work well for content creation - exception being in taking photos.

I do use a mobile when travelling light, and an ipad min for the slightly larger 8" screen. But if I travel and want to keep in touch and do real posting, I will be taking my newly purchased 12" Thinkpad. Power and smaller, lighter.

@realcaseyrollins @Hedieh Thanks for the link, Casey.

Opera has a built in and free VPN also, but there's some concerns about privacy since they are now under a Chines company control. A nice browser, Chromium derived too, like Brave.

Haven't tried it lately, maybe I should, but Waterfox is working so well, and has all the addons I need.
