> Ok thats interesting if your own markdown post isn’t rendering as markdown.. are you saying it doesn’t format it with the markdown when you post from a mobile client specifically. Or do you get this error from the web too?

The post I referred to and linked above was done in my laptop, FF browser using the mastodon web client.

It's odd that it did not format as expected.

The next post I wrote in Pinafore, also on the same browser, just one tab aside. The Bold and Italic did display, I did that specifically for testing.

Odd since posting from the web client previously for testing, earlier this week, was working fine.

***Regarding Quoted paragraph*** - it shows properly in Pinafore, not in masto web client.

Odd... 😃

@freemo
The one you are replying to yes, it rendered as expected.

The one with no formatting is my own, [further above, this toot](qoto.org/@design_RG/1051192476)

I found it odd how it did not show MD - I have it **setup as default for all toots in Mastodon Preferences**, so I don't have to worry about changing back and forth.

> BTW - seems MarkDown formatting ins broken at the moment? (noticed in an earlier post in this thread; some bold and bold-italic only showing as asterisks, plain text). Adding a bit of format to test this, via Pinafore.

That *DID work in Pinafore*, although an earlier post in **web client** did not.

Edit : mixed results here, del/redraft to add comment. **Bold** worked as expected.

Quote paragraph did not, showing with ***multi-line '>' here***; I only used a single char at the begginning of paragraph quoted.

@QOTO

@freemo

Very nice that you are taking this on -- an enhancement to Fediverse features. Well done... 😃

BTW - seems **MarkDown formatting** ins broken at the moment? (noticed in an earlier post in this thread; some bold and bold-italic only showing as asterisks, plain text). Adding a bit of format to test this, via Pinafore.

@QOTO

@freemo

Ah, I see. ***Followers only*** would work, right? Yuo mentioned it as a possible **Private group** arrangement.

@QOTO

@freemo @QOTO >> Test post, ignore me.

Yep. Could try an unlisted or DM style post, it's what I do for markdown checking if a post is more complex (to see if all is well; then delete/redraft and change to normal privacy).

@QOTO

@pauloselias Hello and welcome to the Fediverse.

I would prefer if Twitter stayed out of it, as it would bring a lot of junk and problems into fedi.

It has some good things, I have and use accounts there - mostly to follow professional media like the BBC, Guardian, etc.

Enjoy your stay, ask questions if needed!

@freemo The feature list looks excellent, well done. Big advancement as compared to guppe. Thank you!

@mur2501
Yes, it's supported. I don't use it or know anything about it, but on ocassion you see some wonderful equation pop up in a post, courtesy of LaTex.

@freemo

@freemo Displays static (as I prefer) on FF web client, unless mouse over, when it animates.

Displays animated in Pinafore even if I have the Gif animation turned off by default. Disturbing. :sad_cat:

@mur2501 @freemo A screenshot of the **Husky settings** in this image. **MarkDown selected as default.**

@olamundo Yeah, you need the '>' on a blank line to keep the Quote all in one block.

@mur2501 @freemo

Test and can confirm -- **Husky client DOES work with Markdown formatting**.

You need to **Enable it as default Toot format** in Husky settings.

@olamundo I found out the Code tag breaks when there's a blank line, so I had to delete redraft a couple of time to improve it. Not what I expected, but worth knowing.

In that block of code above, some of it displayed with propor Code format (using monospaced font), while a couple of lines at the end didn't.

Pity, but good to know.

Markdown formatting uses some extra simple characters, but if you are using a command line toot poster, it might not work as expected.

Interesting piece of code there. 'Yo no creo en brujas, pero que las hay, hay',

> All your ram must be getting consumed just to render the start menu :)

Windows 10 does run quite well with 4 GB of Ram, provided you have the good sense of not using Google Chrome.

rules

@freemo @mur2501 Husky has a **MarkDown formatting button**, it should work here now.

As long as the remote server accepts it, it should show proper MD looks. Default mastodon *strips out that cheesy thing it doesn't like*, but ***Qoto now does allow it***.

This reply, via Pinafore, contains MD format for **Bold** and *Italicized text*.
