A comparison of my normal script (first page) against Copperplate Italian Hand (second page). I need a lot of work, but im curious which script does everyone like more?
My gersh (sic) that was annoying. Needed to rewrite this damn page three times. Finally finished it. I need sooooo much practice though still so its good.
It is so fucking frustrating to be half way through a letter and you make a typo. This is the second time i needed to start over.. starting to realize why people stopped using pens :)
Great little free Copperplate book for anyone who is interested:
A bit more attention to my spacing. Its that damn S i just cant get to fit!
I am having a lot of fun trying to replicate the script from the St. John's Bible. Im also surprisingly happy with the results considering this is a first attempt.
Practicing Cantaneo Script for the first time. I usually only practice my copperplate cursive but needed a bit of a change and was curious how the practice might carry over to other hands. Far from perfect but this still represents a huge improvement for me on italics despite not practicing italic scripts in a long time.
Playing around with a new script called Chancellor's Hand. I need some practice on proportions but i like the style of it.
Did you know copperplate based cursive has two distinct forms of r that are interchangable depending on what letters are around.
Below is an example, thr first r is a full r and the second is a half r. I bet you were only taught the half r in school and have been doing it wring this whole time. The two forms of r are standard practice and proper copperplate generally shoukd include both in the appropriate places.
This new grey ink im using is kinda nice. It is holding up pretty well and has a nice contrast.
I have a feel a psychologist would have a thing or two to say if they saw my self-written exemplar I use when practicing my Copper plate script...
Cool youtube channel showing historicly accurate ways to fold letter or do "letter locking". Each of these is derrived directly from letters found in museums.

The pengrams I use when practicing a new script...
It is designed so each word has the letter it represents twice, once at the beginning and once in the middle (never at the end). I picked these words for a few reasons.
1) I always practice the capital form of the letter in the word
2) I always practice the lowercase form of the letter
3) I get to practice both the lead-in connector and the outgoing connector for the lowercase form (by virtue of now being at the end of the word)
FYI last word should be Zanzibar
Someone made a Script out of Donald Trump's handwriting and named it "Tiny Hand". The link also includes a font you can download. This is the funniest thing I heard in a while.

I just wanted to reshare that time, a few months ago, where i attempted to write "minimum" so it was the same when turned 180 degrees...
It wasn't perfect, I should try it again now that I'm more practiced.
This quote I wrote in copperplate a few weeks ago is still ringing in my head. Leave it to Einstein to leave me thinking off such a simple idea.
