@ashfurrow@mastodon.technology What does that matter? Since these days people use fascist to describe virtually anyone they disagree with politically I think it should be painfully clear that the policy you propose is both dangerous and reckless.

Then again you're style of discussion is very immature. So I dont really have high hopes for a useful response.

@ashfurrow@mastodon.technology You're entire mind-set boils down to "I think something is wrong, and everyone has to agree with me". Sure, on people like Alex jones it sounds great because most sane people can agree on him. But of course it never ends there and the damage done and the book burning that results is always so much worse than the Alex Jones morons that were so easily ignored.

@ashfurrow@mastodon.technology I'm protecting everyones right. That tends to mean fascists get the same rights as everyone else. But it also means when someone calls you a fascist (and you dont agree with them) you will be equally protected.

Also lets be clear NO ONE is saying you need to tolerate them. Block the guy ( I know I did). Create shared block lists with him on it so everyone who wants to blocks him. I never claimed you had to tolerate him, only that if OTHER people wish to tolerate him they have that right. If you live in a healthy society however very few people will, regardless of him having an account or not.

@ashfurrow@mastodon.technology Funny, thats what people tend to say when they are the ones who are wrong...

@kingu_platypus_gidora@octodon.social Is this the Netherlands? Feels like it to me.

@ashfurrow@mastodon.technology Obviously I'm well aware of that. When you get on the internet you don't "Own" the hardware at your ISP either. One could also argue that ISP's should be allowed to censor whatever they want because they don't want to give ideas a "platform" on the servers they provide. I would say thats wrong for the exact same reason (and why I strongly support net-neutrality).

Social Media is in many ways the same idea, and absolutely no place to enact censorship.

@ipslfn@twingyeo.kr I'm so confused right now by this statement :)

Today's meal was effectively just every shellfish known to man.

@Gargron I'd like that but for full disclosure my mastodon.social account isnt my main account though.

@mayel You're welcome. I think it was a really cool idea, most people dont know how easy it is.

@Argus@mastodon.technology I like the intention of the rules, but given there is so much room for interpretation in that it really depends on how it is interpreted. I have met almost know one who could fairly execute on those rules personally.

@ashfurrow@mastodon.technology Can't say I entirely agree. While I would be happy to see him go off the ar because no one paid attention to him I consider it morally corrupt to deprive someone of a voice for disagreeing with them.

@fenwick67@octodon.social
Thanks. I'll take a closer look and see if that is what is happening.
@arteteco

@jotbe As much as I despise anything Alex Jones has to say this is just disgusting :( I'm glad we have ActivityPub / Mastodon so this is no longer an issue.
