All applications are just different variations on software. We should merge all apps into one massive super-app with a single git repo that has all features every conceived in one place. We get to consolidate efforts and people only need to install one app on their computer instead of a 1000 different apps. Plus the code base would be smaller since we could get rid of all that duplicate code!

@atoponce Does the edge rewrite existing webpages to change all the links to this format? Or is it something that html authors can just use when appropriate.

If its the latter then this doesnt seem like anticompetitive behavior, it kinda makes sense if a particular link has edge specific functionality in it that doesnt match the html standard. Not that such pages should exist very often. But I could see the need under certain circumstances.

Pro engineering tip: when buying pipe make sure the outer diameter is larger than the inner diameter or else the hole will be too large and consume the entire universe.

@icedquinn Well we need a change from the soulless politicians in charge now. Luckily gingers have several extra souls they have collected from others so who better to take their place!

Can you spot which one is the ?

I support equal rights, not this garbage and stuff like it I keep hearing from many feminists. Jesus Christ people this is not the way to be taken seriously.

@freemo I too would like a subservient new school husband for my doggo adoption ambitions 😅

@Gina hahaha great minds think alike. Lets just get married and ill watch the doggos for 6 months then you watch them for the other 6 months. It will be the perfect marriage we would never even need to see each other! :)

@Gina If I didnt travel so much I'd rescue a doggo in a heart beat.

Most people want a subserviant old-school woman to marry to they have someone to clean their home for them. I just want one so I can get puppies and still travel :)

Its always nice to get mentioned in the release of a major open-source project like . Granted my mention is very minor, barely worth mentioning. But still, its nice to see.

@stux I'm amazed the guy just modded a $300 phone and sold it for 80K+... Any schmuck could do this.

@stux The guy probably only bought it because he couldn't afford a new one :)

@robryk

Yea the wobble method, which is closely related to the doppler shift method in principle, works well too. One issue with both these methods, as I understand it, is they are more effective picking up more subtle effects (like planets far away) when there are fewer planets orbiting the star. Otherwise the pulls tend to average out and you get less wobble.

@olamundo

@olamundo Considering this a bit more.... since gravity diminishes at a geometric rate, but is correlated to the mass of a planet at a linear rate, then one would expect a far away planet, even many times larger than earth (like a gas giant) would still likely have a minimal effect on the star.

@olamundo You could be right, it wouldnt surprise me. I guess it just depends on how far out it is really.

@olamundo I would think so yes. Though keep in mind planets farther out are also far more massive, sometimes approaching the mass of the star itself. So this may even the odds a bit. I am only speculating though.

@olamundo I will say this though. The method of detecting planets by a drop in luminosity as it transits is just one method, there are others. For example we also use variation in Doppler shift of the host star to detecting orbiting bodies.

@olamundo My understanding is that we hav efewer methods to detect stars farther away from their host star. Therefore I might expect that there will be a bias in detecting fewer of them.

I am no astrophysicist though. So naturally I am not the best person to answer this.
