@stux

Just smuggle me in in a crate labled "mayo". No dutch person would ever dare obstruct the flow of mayo... The spice must flow!

I am at the point where I have thrown in the towel. I refuse to acknowledge COVID exists in any form from this week onward. No more masks no more lock downs. I'm done. The deaths are more preferable than living in fear for the rest of our lives.

@Pat

I love dark humor, its my fave.

The thing about the ending is you as the viewer dont really know if its a dream or not. Its one of those double-meaning endings that movies love to do.

@BollerwagenPicard@mastodontech.de

@freemo @realcaseyrollins @forever @amolith Hahaha indeed! :blobcathearts::cat_hug_triangle:

Hope COVID things get better here (again) so we can hang out again! 🥂

@stux

Yea for sure. At this rate we will get to hang out either way. Either COVID will go away, or you will be the only survivor left and can make your own rules. :)

My plan is if COVID eases i hope to be there in like 6 months. I have my egypt trip which ill be doing for 3 - 6 months and then either hop to another location int he tropics for the second half or stay in egypt. After that my hope is europe will be open again and I can hop on over from africa to europe and we can chill again.

It has been far too long since we hung out, stupid COVID!

@realcaseyrollins @forever @amolith

@realcaseyrollins

To answer more seriously... stux is actually a good guy (we have hung out before in person, so we are IRL friends). No it doesnt make me sick.

@forever @amolith @stux

@realcaseyrollins

Me? Facetious? I would never! How could I possibly be facetious, I dont even know what that means!

@forever @amolith @stux

@icedquinn thoughts? You can have those when looking at a naked woman? I'm lucky to muster up thoughts when there is one in the same room as me, naked or not.

@Pat

To me brazil was more about strangeness than comedy in many ways.. but there were some scenes trying to be funny like when the dudes suit fills with shit.

I think the ending of Brazil was just too morbid to feel like a comedy to me.

@BollerwagenPicard@mastodontech.de

Every 90's horror movie ever made...

::bad man about to do a thing::

Sound in background: WHAP WHAp WHap Whap whap..... WHAP WHAp WHap Whap whap.....

::bad man does the thing::

Person: Did you hear about the bad man who did the thing?

::random boobies::

<repeat from start>

@Pat

In fact I always considered 1984 and Brazil twins and always thought of them together since before this conversation.

@BollerwagenPicard@mastodontech.de

@Pat

for some reason in my head 1984 adn Brazil were always two movies that were like twins of each other. I always just saw them both as dystopian authoritative futures. While Brazil certainly has a lighter more comedic feel to it they both felt more like dramas to me than anything resembling a comedy.

@BollerwagenPicard@mastodontech.de

@Pat

Now that you meantion the HVAC guy I kinda do remember him.

Satire I can see as a descriptor honestly. For some reason my brain has a hard time accepting satire as humor :)

@BollerwagenPicard@mastodontech.de

@Pat

I love the movie Brazil, though I dont recall him being in it and honest I never really thought of it as a comedy (though i can see why you might call it that). Taxi driver, yea that one I'll give ya.

Actually the wording of the bill is even worse than that. It is illegal even if it is false and you as the author did not know it was false.

The criteria to violate this law is that the information you publish need be false and wreckless, which is way more broad than "knowingly".

Here is the exact text of the bill that covers this:

A person commits an offence if, in response to an information notice—
(a) the person provides or publishes information or produces a document,
(b) the information or document is false in a material respect, and
(c) at the time the person provides, publishes or produces it, the person
knows that it is false in a material respect **or is reckless** as to whether it
is false in a material respect.

@louisrcouture

@louisrcouture

I didnt mean to imply you said anything incorrect. I was just adding my two cents after a quick glance at the bill.

@waltercool

@freemo @waltercool From this free metro article. It seems that this law isn’t about vaccines at all, but rather as to ban content that can cause “likely psychological harm”

There are definitely legitimate concerns about what is “content that can cause psychological harm” and how it could be interpreted to silence people but this isn’t a “jail the anti vaxxers bill “

metro.co.uk/2021/11/01/online-

@louisrcouture

So I just found the full text of the bill and gave it a speed read. It makes no mention of vaccines anywhere in the bill, so you are correct:

assets.publishing.service.gov.

With that said I would say that while the original article, as you pointed out, is incorrect, the truth of the matter is in fact **worse**. The scope is so much more general that not only could it be used to jail people for spreading misinformation but also for any number of ridiculous charges.

Its a absolutely horrific and scary bill no matter how you dice it by the looks of it.

@waltercool

@Pat

DeNiro was suprisingly good in comedy roles. Not what I would have expected.

@BollerwagenPicard@mastodontech.de

@Pat

Nope, nothing in the rules would suggest you do. They are SFW I'd say... might make whoever is looking at them at work look a little creepy, but still SFW :)
