@xrevan86 @mangeurdenuage hmm so you just post the link and the preview should automatically show up for you?

@mangeurdenuage Thats fair, but thats easily solved by providing a no js theme as an option I'd think, no?

@Gongzero I think there are two types of people: Those who are good at math and get excited by these symbols, those who arent very good at math and get scared when they see those symbols, and people who dont know what the hell it is :)

@OutOnTheMoors My issue with antifa is 1) they express facism by only permitting speech that aligns with their own ideals 2) their excessive use of violence in order to enforce their opinions.

I've seen far too many older folks assaulted by antifa supporters to support their approach to solving problems.

@mangeurdenuage I could see the advantage for someone on a very limited machine. Though I'm not sure it has a huge advantage for most people. In fact the lack of some of the extras JS can provide could be a turn off.

@LWFlouisa I agree they do a very poor job at teaching math. Common core in america is a step in the right direction at least but still has its flaws

@LWFlouisa yea id like to see the math or an example or something.

@lbs@chaos.social Ahh yea. Shit is bat shit crazy over there. Basically unless your an extremist on the left or an extremist on the right then you are seen as the epitome of evil to everyone. Its really out of hand, cant even interact with most Americans anymore, particularly in groups.

@LWFlouisa Yea we have a lot of really cool probabilistic methods for finding large primes. Did you discover a new novel way or just read about an existing one?

@lbs@chaos.social You could be right. Are you from america? I just moved away from america a month ago because the constant tantrums hasve become unbearable. My own expierence is that not only has it gotten significantly worse but the bulk of it has been in the last few years.

As for people in the past, I can mostly look to exchanges via letters to see how people with vastly different opinions interacted. For the most part it always appears mature. I dont think I can recall very many historic letters that were mostly name calling. But today though its hard to have an exchange with anyone that doesnt eventually devolve into that, unless of course you agree.
