@vollink I lived in america all my life. Only been living in the netherlands a few months. If you guys can solve it without a civil war, great. But at this point I'd say both the left and the right in america are a lost cause. Let them shoot it out, ill come back when its over.

I love being in Europe. I feel like from 9am to 3pm I have the whole internet to myself... until the Americans start waking up and getting online then its back to everyone being a nazi or a Muslim and no matter what you say you have two choices, agree with them or offend them (and be deemed a Nazi/Muslim).

Americans really need to go ahead and have another civil war already, its getting old.

@saxnot Yes, but it means the rest of the fediverse blocks you, so you cant use the whole of the network anymore. Individuals are forced to block whoever the person operating their server sees fit. If you dnt like their decision you must forfeit your account and all the followers you made to move. If migrating were seemless only then would i see it as a solved problem.

@LWFlouisa You are probably just doing something wrong. it requires a bit of tech knowledge to make it all work.

@LWFlouisa If you dont need a server side app then generating it locally has many advantages. for one it is much much faster to load. For another you dont need an expensive server running a database

@LWFlouisa If you want it to be served up as a web page your best best is likely jeckyl. Really easy to use, generates static html so you can put it anywhere, and you write your posts in markdown.

Isnt going to give you a nice form like you want, but still is a great workflow (i do something similar for my blog).

@LWFlouisa Are you trying to actually write blogging server? For that you need to get a bit more technical. Might want to look into jeckyl or middleman
