Still soaking through te bandage but it appears to be mostly clear now and less blood (light pink in spots) I am hoping that is a good sign and that they will send me home today.

@Surasanji Yea us 10 are all in the same super hero club. Its a bit of an STI really.

@Surasanji superpowers are overrated, I'm already trying to get rid of the ones I have.

Stil bleeding through the bandages post surgery.. No infection yet but they wont send me home yet either.

@selea
It isnt about simply biblical greek or hebrew. The mechanism used to encode the full context goes beyond just the language (gematria being the prime example).

Once that understanding exists most of the apparent contradictions are quickly resolved. Though of course there is still room for interpretation so it does depend on your own abilities to interpret properly.

Most of the examples you give ae pretty easy to dismiss, in my experience, with a deeper understanding. For example it is quite clear the creation story, as is usually recited, is not at all the intent f genesis in the slightest.

I am not disputing your expertise either way, you are welcome to your opinion and i completely respect that. Though I do not feel it reflects an understanding of the texts message based on what little detail you shared.

Difference in opinions are fine though.

@Surasanji pppssshhh second rate EU socialist blood maybe. I got that good blood filled with eagles and freedom!

@Surasanji Yea but how else will other people be able to enjoy it if i selfishly keep it to myself

@Surasanji Still in the hospital. Too much bleeding to let me go yet

I have realized that I have not done any proper #presentation, it seems like something you have to do here ;)

@SecondJon
There is value in every endeavor. I'm just saying that the apparent meaning, in isolation isnt particularly clear. It lends itself to a dozen or more interpretations. There is still value in reading about it and reflecting on it and using your own reason to formulate a philosophical perspective from it.

The deeper meaning however removes some degree of that ambiguity as it provides further clarification of the intent of the authors and what they specifically did not intend.

What it appears to teach to modertn indoctrinated christians, yes. People of the time who were scholarly enough to have access to read and own such texts however would not come away with the same apparent meaning. The way in which the additional content was encoded were standard practice and the deeper meaning, to them, would have been the apparent one.

I generally try not to assert how much of an expert i am or am not, particularly on topics of religion. The general fallacy of appeals to authority are not helpful IMO.

I can say I have invested sigificant man hourse studying the nature of such texts, learning (to some degree) the original languages of such texts, and went in depth on notions of gematria and how they were applied to texts of the time, including the bible.

But I would not make any superior claim of authority, and never would, You are welcome to hold a difference of opinion and you will have my respect regardless of if i think it is correct or not.

It goes against what modern christians in their ignorance believe the biblical teachings are. But to me it is clear the exact opposite is true in terms of what the bible intended to teach. That being deep scholarly knowledge about the world and philosophy/ethics. Knowledge that departs significantly from the message that appears on the surface.

@selea @SecondJon

@masterofthetiger@theres.life
Except in my view that is not at all the message, just appears to be to someone who has not studied the subject in a scholarly manner.

I had a 6 year old read my math book once. He too thought it was a simple book to understand, one that taught you how to draw pretty looking lines on a graph.

Not trying to be belittling here though.

@selea @SecondJon

@SecondJon
Except that it is not jesus interpritation of his own words. Its a scholarly descrption reflecting on his teachings generations after his deaths. Done so using a form of story telling intended to be challenging to understand. We call this the "occult" or hidden knowledge, It is a very old tradition for ancient texts.

@masterofthetiger@theres.life

@selea
"eternal salvation" is a modern Christian interpretation. Not at all, IMO, the best description of the point of the book.

It is meant to be difficult to understand, however, because the experience of trying to understand it is far more valuable than a story book tale that is easy to interpret
Whether you think it has any value or not the value in the cryptic expression, for me, is apparent and clearly intentional.
