To each their own. I'd say welcoming people who need a new home on a server that is donated and paid for with no possible benefit to the owners is more an act of generosity. But if you find such invites unpleasant go for it.

QOTO and ART have had decent relationships in the past. Many former Art users have come to us and we often suggest the art instance to our users looking for an art specific server. We are all just offering charity by hosting servers and welcoming people to use it for free. Part of that is letting people know they are welcome with open arms.

If that upsets you that is your right.

@Curator As a fellow instance admin I can agreed with this message that there needs to be some level of mederation and ultimately what level you want determines which instance you want.

I can say that while I completely respect the mods at ART and their decision if anyone is looking for a instance that never blocks other instances, allows people free speech with minimal moderation, but also has an instance with no drama or attacks and everyone gets along and are all very nicer with almost no exceptions, any former ART members are more than welcome at #QOTO

As the team at ART said, there are also other many wonderful instances.

@papya While I am all for making all drugs legal I cant say I support the idea that crack cocaine can be an effective drug. It isnt. But i support legalization of drugs simple because people have a right to have full control over what they put in their own body.

@TheGnuMaster I am not entierly sure. We have something in the netherlands just labeled "Indian Soysauce" It was my first time trying it. Let me ask my dutch friends make sure I didnt do a bad translation.

@adrint @TheGnuMaster It was rightfully ruled unconstitutional in Federal district court. So it cant be enforced nor should it.

@TheGnuMaster The thing is, he cant. The president sending troops to invade without congressional approval is and always has been illegal under the constitution. We just stopped enforcing it.

Thats just it the president has very little power, we just sit back and do nothing when he goes beyond that power.

The rest I agree with though.

@TheGnuMaster I have always been a choice of ranked-choice voting or similar schemes. But I do agree about your remarks about the Weimar republic in fact I often state as much. But I disagree it is due to the president having too much power, in the USA the president has very very little power everyone just thinks he does. The issues are more around abandoning many personal rights, a broken voting system, and fear being the dominating factor among the public.
