@Gargron Sounds good. Arent there some servers though that still use it exclusively? Cal you tell us which other servers in the fediverse (in terms of software) this would cause us to loose interoperability with?
BTW the reason I initally picked mastodon was specifically because it supported the most protocols of my options. Not sating this would cause #QOTO to switch, but it may if it impacts who we can federate with significantly.
As always thank you for your hard work.
@snder
I dont personally care what you do either way. Its your server and you can have any policy on blocking you want.
I was just relaying what the gabbers were saying.
@pschwede
I did not. While I dont like many of his comments I feel in these discussions its usually best to keep it to the actionable choices Trump has taken or things he has done, rather than things he said behind closed doors.
Not that they arent bad, they are, nd reflect on his mentality. I just find that there are way more severe issues to focus on than just his words.

Well long story short Jaycephus asked how gab possibly could have blocked you if he is still seeing your posts.
In short, to the people on gab it looks like gab didnt block you at all, it looks like the only person blocking between you two is quey. Not sure if that is meant to imply your the bad guy here or not, dont want to put words into their mouth.
@Jaycephus
I cant speak for quey, only my own statement.
For my part I saw multiple people on Gab get their account suspended shortly after criticising gab but otherwise not being abusive.
When I saw this i didnt want to jump to conclusions so I tested it myself. I created a account on gab and made a post which was intentionally polite, but otherwise criticizing gab (said something to the effect of "My initial impressions of gab suggest the rumors are true, I'm seeing a lot of unsavory behavior here". The account was suspended within an hour of that post. To me this was the confirmation I needed that Gab was block-friendly.
Lets also not forget that the CEO himself has threatened on at least one occasion to block the entire fediverse. Not sure if that post is still up but I did see it when he made it.
@Fatih19 I read it in a scientific journal some years ago, give me a bit and ill dig it up for you.

Every single feature on your body from your penis to your nose is a genetic mutation. Its hardly relevant in the least whether an intersexed person is the result of a mutation or not. With that said not all intersex is a mutation, you can have normal genes and be intersexed due to other causes as well.
People who are intersexed fall everywhere ont he spectrum and off of it. Some are 99/1, some are 1/99 some are 50/50, and some have genital features which are somewhat unique.
Of course none of this is a useful point to anything at all. But unlike you when I find a points pathetic and just repeats of talking points you clearly know nothing about I will still engage them respectfully.
@Kambeii@social.quodverum.com How about instead of assuming nonsense that isnt true about my opinions you spend your time focusing that energy on replying to the things I actually said, rather than the things you want to pretend I said.
I dont particularly care what crass nonsense he says behind closed doors nor do I care in the least whether or not Haiti is a shit hole.
@ZacharyHerold
Oh no dont cite facts at him! When you do that he throws up his hands and says he "cant be bothered" and starts calling you names... Best to keep the hard science away from him.

1.7% is not barely existing.
the point about sex is that there are more than 2 sexes, and that those sexes are in the minority.
This is a very obvious point and takes the levels to which you bend over backwards to argue against a point which you effectively agree with is absurd.
The number of people who are intersex are more than large enough to ensure that every day you pass at least one of them, and most likely many.

Your point is nonsensical. If you had said something like "There are only people with 10 fingers" you've be just as wrong. But if you said "The majority of people have 10 fingers" you'd be right.
Similarly if you say "There are only two sexes" you are very obviously wrong. However if you say "The majority of people are one of two sexes" then you would be right. But common sense, therefore, should also tell you thats the very reason why people who are not one of the two main sexes are considered a minority because they are.... in the minority.

@guizzy I understand that visceral reaction. I think that is something both sides instinctually feel when they hear the other argue a point, even before you have a chance to really judge it.
Dont get me wrong I understand the conditioning. The left, as with all americans, are pretty childish when they argue their points. They repeat things like robots and know very little of the context. So when you hear it you are conditions to immediately assume its more of the same. For me as someone who is neither left nor right I have an instinct to want to react that way when i hear right talking points as much as left. But I do make a conscious effort not to feed into that instinct.
So while I do understand why you might have responded how you did based on past expiernce, ultimately it is counter-productive. Responding the way you do is why the left thinks so low of you and others ont he left. Just as it is the reason you feel the same in the other direction. It is clearly a habit best broken.
@Kambeii@social.quodverum.com
That would be great if it were true. Of course it completely ignores the established science of intersex people who clearly are something other than "one of two sexes".
Of course in typical fashion it is also naive to the point. The number of sexes there are has nothing at all to do with a person who is changing their sex from one to the other through surgery.
It is further naive as a pointless republican talking point since it exerts willful ignorance of the historic difference between Gender (what we use in language to refer to someone outside of medical context) and Sex (usually only used when talking medically, or in very close interpersonal relationships where it might be normal to reference your partners genitalia).

@guizzy Well of course its obvious. Did you read what I said. I said I compiled the list from various sources. But I only selected the points I had previously known about and did deep research on.
Generally speaking citing other sources with more credibility than yourself, especially on topics you have also researched and confirmed in your own studies, is a good thing, not a bad thing.
@guizzy I know enough about all the points to defend them. Again I only picked the points I have researched and know about in-depth.
The reason it is more useful to provide a comprehensive list rather than a single point is that a person can either simply disagree, or even potentially change my mind on some of those points. That would be great. But if even one of them is valid then the overall point is valid, that Trump has violated civil liberties.
Since I took the time to list all those issues, fact check each one, verify them, and do indepth research, and provide that as a response. There is no reason to think he is not capable to engage at the same level. I am not asking any more from him than what I gave to the conversation.
