Oh its totally a client UX thing. Many clients flatten responses. The threading is preserved in the JSON side of things. But many clients dont render the threading.

You can see a "hint" at the threading by checking who is tagged in the reply list usually or by clicking on a message to expand its thread and only its thread.

@weston Generally you reply to the main post.. there is no "last" in any meaningful way because posts in mastodon are threaded, so that wouldnt make any sense anyway.

@bibliolater In clients it should, on the web not right now. we fixed the backend but there are a few lingering minor things on the front end.

Then why do we see tons of examples of seemingly two party systems constantly switching their two primary parties in similar systems? Even in the usa the two main parties have been replacr with mew mainnparties 8 times.

@joaopinheiro Well the good news is this is probably our last election either way. Harris we have economic collapse, Trump we have no more democracy.. either way there wont be an america left for much longer, at least not one that resembles what we think of as america.

Some are parlimentary, but not all of them no.

RCV would alleviate the party control, if they really had control. They dont. It is completely a lie they established that people bought and accept. Nothing more. Youbcant fix a purely cultural thing like being gullible to a lie putaide of fixing society sadly.

Im a huge supporter of RCV since it is simply a superior method. However the evidemce overwhelming ahows that FPTP voting (what we currently have) doesnt cause two party systems despite the myth. This is evidenced by the thousanda of elections aroubd the world that uae it without ahpwing a tendency for a two party system. Likewise we see in states with RCV it still maintains a twonparty dominance.

So as much as id love to see RCV sadly i dont think that ia the main problem. The problem ia just that americans are super gullible and actually are easily.manipulated i to beleiving there is a twonparty system ahen there isnt.

Thats my point at the begining, everything we discussed is relevant only in a medical context (sex)... in a social context, like someone you meet on the street, their DNA or genitals or homones dont matter. What matters is how you contribute to their happiness, and that of society, rather than suffering. In that regard I'd say the **minimum** a person should do is address a person with respect. To call someone who is clearly trying to present as one sex by terminology for another is little more than an attempt to mock someone behind a veil of "biology".

@FinalOverdrive Yes a person can physically present aas a woman with male hormones if they have the wrong hormones or sensitivity to it. For example Androgen Insensativity Syndrome.

That is also a very valid point for sure. I think there are a LOT of people who present as one sex but have a hormonal balance closer to the other from such an early age their mind will be oriented more towards that sex.
