@AliceStollmeyer I really wonder about the specifics though. If they're running it on AWS or Azure it's not much use.

Twitter is a sign-in identity provider too... And revoking access at Twitter or deleting your account does not necessarily break that delegation token...
I trust their security team made this happen. But it's not intrinsic.
If you've ever "Logged in" to a website or app with Twitter, you created an account with a secret Twitter holds on its servers. You don't sign in with your Twitter account. You sign in with an OAUTH token Twitter owns.

hard agree.
When people "get" how much we are indoctrinated into our our values and priorities via socialization…it's a game changer. my favorite example is how millions of US soldiers went to "fight against fascism" in WWII, and came home and continued to oppress certain groups…without any self awareness.
to paraphrase: it's the social hierarchies, stupid.
Hint: all cultures touched by colonization will have lots of sick values baked right into them.

Today I came across an Android app called Keet. A P2P chat and video app, and I must say that it's quite impressive given that no central servers are involved to make connections happen.
Built by Holepunch which provides a framework and various components to build decentralized apps.
Kinda cool, and bit of a new world to me.

Have any #p2p people used #Keet ? Built on on #Hypercore. Looking for a good hole punching implementation and i was told this was a good one. I just tried it out between my laptop (behind university firewall/NAT) and cell phone (on mobile network), and I had one issue connecting, but after an update was able to connect in both directions no problem. No login, no account, no phone number, and allegedly e2e without needing a public server to coordinate the holepunch. need to check out how that's implemented. if this checks out i'm like damn this might be better than Signal (which i love)

So some back of the napkin estimates. Assuming we just talk in terms of solar panels to make the math simple...
To power the world it would take 51 billion solar panels which have an average lifespan of 25 years (sources cited at the end).
A solar panel requires mostly aluminum and copper to construct it with 12% being copper, 87% aluminum, and 1% other stuff like silver and lead.
Solar panels require about 21 tons of aluminum and 2 tons of copper to produce 1 MW of power producing potential from solar panels. Thats 12.6 lbs of aluminum and 1.3 lbs of copper per panel.
So total to support a world running on solar panels would take 321 million tons of aluminum and 33 million tons of copper every 25 years.Or 64 million tons of aluminum and 6.4 million tons of copper every year.
Figuring out how much of that would effect shipping is the tricky part, and will take a little bit of hand waving. But in 2022 there were 69 million tons of new aluminum consumed per year. Similarly there was 25 million tons of copper consumed each year. That means the total need for aluminum would almost double and the global need for copper would increase by about 20%. Thats a total increased ore shipment across the two ores of 75% increase.
Your average freighter can carry 165K tons of freight. So to carry the new resources it would take 440 additional shipping freight cargo ships making a trip each year.
By estimates there are "hundreds of thousands of shipping vessel crossings every year" So assuming going away from fossil fuels cut shipping vessle crossings in half we are talking about saving somewhere on the order of 50K+ crossings every year but adding back only about 440 crossings each year.

Hand Gestures... Open vs. Closed - Your feeling?
I thought about the closed-fist for while now on and off.. nothing too bad
But when I saw this picture, it made it clearer about the open hand upwards instead.
The open hand seems more in line with many other things and more 'friendly' or less combative. Even in #Aikido and other arts it seems rather less harmless (until actually you're on you're flat on your back perhaps or hit with something if coming too close)... so yes it's less force showing perhaps at the beginning and on a human level or in photos showing people, I think showing force can be one-notch down so it's not worrying for others...
A Fist #celebration is not bad - just this seems clearer, gentler, less misunderstood, safer with open hand upward with back of the hand showing.

⚫ MARTIAL ARTS
Some #MartialArts / #Aikido / #Judo / #BJJ / #Jujitsu / #MMA use the open hand until the fist is really necessary. So not always the first tool perhaps.
⚫ LIBERATION
Fist in the air more straight up seems to suggest (or we learned from history) #freedom or self-liberation - #self-power. Which is fair enough and I like these too - perhaps the bent elbow seems to ruing that a bit for me personally... still thinking about it.
⚫ PRIMITIVE REACTION TEST
I think for conflict (as life is a kind of constant #conflict or #negotiation naturally between one or many humans in this context of photos) #gestures can have a primitive-first feeling as well as the more educated layered #interpretation after.
So by asking the question about how it feel on a #primitive level this might give more result to how you feel (as best as you can feel primitively or first-feeling):
✊ ❓ If you saw a fist in the air ✊
or showed that gesture to another human then how would they feel on a #primitive or first-feeling level... I know most of the time it's for a photo etc and depends on the position, but for on-lookers let's say it's some kind of #victory or #power or #muscle or something shown.
Now try asking
❓ If you saw an open hand in the air or towards the #sky 👋 ✋
or showed that to another human, then how does that feel / look ?
I hope you already feel it just from description...
Can even forget the God aspect if you felt that or got the idea for the words, although there seems a bit of that "giving thanks to something other than us. Open seems nicer or not over-saying much. Maybe not say a lot also which is safer!
⚫ PHYSICAL POSTURE / PHYSICALITY 💪
Perhaps the fist also shows bicep more and is a bit more #clenched even though it's not a pure flex and more diagonally upwards... but still compared...
The #hand in air the with the arm and elbow pointing forward to camera is not showing #bicep #muscle. 💪 and mostly open hand ✋ (back of hand and almost all is pointing up ⬆️ )
And open hand is giving (as well as receiving - a too way thing that fist doesn't seem to naturally have)
I think even with bad people we need to somehow take care of them too - while not allowing them all the way in either, but not to have it only on a power vs. power level but cooperation instead of force vs force level (again without letting people pretending inside things to do their bad work again). Some chance of redemption or doing better between us without anyone totally giving in or instantly being considered good either... the giving and receiving seems to allow more of a chance than everyone with fists and more gladiatorial #liberation.
