@Uair @actuallyautistic Few ideas on what to do:

- Some sort of sorting of a big pile of stuff (your attic / someone else's / a basement)

- visiting old grandmas or people regularly almost to save their life (while saving your own)

- cutting vegetables for others, potatoes are one of the best anyway so why not for yourselves and others?! (as a 1 logic)

- cleaning cars as a informal business - most family can feel some pride with that and like the inside done too.

@monicarooney hehe! Almost got it - was tricky after the knot to keep pentagon shape (I just teared a thin trop so not perfect).

Does sounds like a good idea for a page or set of pictures :) Seems simple too... +1

Gas Boilers are not efficient / cost-effective (big holes in your pocket for labour + parts + specialism for both overall as an overall factor)...

@Workshopshed A side-tracked / almost off-topic bit about having Gas Boilers that I remember I wanted to write anyway- so hope it's interesting!

Gas Boilers are not cost effective unless you're extremely lucky (my boiler engineer friend backs me up somewhat when pushed for answers about cost of all problems) which made me just get just get a big catering urn instead of yet another boiler or part that went wrong with it (basically it's like buying a new boiler every x years... so a big kettle / electric element for the cost of a upper-class kettle is 1 solution!) and just preparing bath 40mins before...if I wanted hot water... and basically accepting using less hot / warm water overall (so 2 aims here)...

Can say more but basically a big catering urn and less hot water beats all the hassle can't be done by any old person using a boiler so too specialist too from pipes, gas supplier, unit (almost 1000 sometimes), gas specialist / engineer per hour 100... = a total that is more than boiler itself and terrible ultimatum just for hot water)

So all it takes is just one problem to start going the wrong way fast economically and lazy engineers will just say "it's old or beyond economical repair" which is known as BER (for mobile phones too). The advert for 80-99% efficiency means diddly when any part goes wrong and you're locked out of everything and burdened with cost (even to shut it off!)

Think about that next time boiler goes wrong and do the DIY way / minimise - with catering urn / boiler!

Advertising for the good...

@forty2 Not surprised and even think we can embrace the same model under our own rules and mutuality but who's up for doing that more in-house?
I think this is the difference in moving to different models by COPYING literally our own version... been saying these kind of things for a while, but even long-term crushing ping-pong about that is not for everyone (anyone>?)... so in a way (good or bad) at least someone else is doing as we can't survive without advertising ourselves... and the other teams have a head-start.

I believe we can do it when conversation, from anyone, can be taken and that will run with.

I'm speaking around and waiting as the start and continuation is everything even without direct immediate result...

On my way to the #openhardwaresummit in Montréal. Who else is going?

I'm running a Hardware Happy Hour at @Leeborg's hacker event space Radio Snack tomorrow evening. If you're in town please join us!

The publisher of a small imprint of roleplaying games magazines/speculative fiction shuts down after 22 years because their submissions have been flooded with AI to the extent they cannot wade through them:

“The problem with AI is the people who use AI. These are people who think their ‘ideas’ are more important than the actual craft of writing, so they churn out all these ‘ideas’ and enter their idea prompts and think the output is a story.”

I made a Long-Tailed Tit! This is my first attempt at representing an actual real bird. There will be more, but next time I am using wax to shape the beak, this one was so tiny it was basically impossible to form with just the needle. And I'll wrap the wire in waxed wool, too, so it looks even more realistic. #NeedleFelting

@barefootstache No, could you summarise for me in this context and why you think it's appropriate to read?

I have to wonder how many lawyers defending Trump don't actually support him and are just using him as a vehicle to pen-test, and ultimately strengthen, the US legal system.
