Words have 2...3...4... meanings
Dictionary / Language is therefore by nature misleading...

Collectivism (as example)

= 1. Soviet communism
OR
= 2. A political theory that the people should own the means of production

So if I say I don't like "Collectivism"
❓ Do I dislike 1? Soviet communism

or

❓ Do I dislike 2? A political theory that the people should own the means of production

❓ or dislike BOTH?

Multi-meaning words are therefore by nature / full of ...

growth = success? (Mastodon critique)

growth = success (usually)

however growth in just numbers without mindset growth is dangerous.

for example is growing and so are the :youtube: youtube links which is Google.

So YouTube Google :google: on Mastodon or linking to making a kind of Advert Farm for them here - which is not the aim but often comes first with users and is not acknowledged or curbed enough (or at all) by admins and users to do different or try something else (filtered links or firefox plugin etc)

Those who might have come here for similar reasons (non adverts) put links with adverts! Crazy!

So we grow the SAME cancers here / allow links tracking users or just link to non-Mastodon and expect that to work?

A least people could filter their links to videos like this

invidious.jing.rocks/watch?v=L

or video channels linked like this:

Ask Government THIS!

Targets are for 2050 ⚠️ ❓
But that year is at least 6 or 7 governments away!

Does government have conservation or demand reduction targets for this year? And next 5 years?

(otherwise projections are meaningless and legally NOT binding!)

A binary choice of either big or big .

(Two choices, same choice or result)

@stormbringer
This post was a bit better but jumping all over the place is a sure sign of not keeping to topic

Not good enough for me to do what you do - treating people so is great but if you think that's going to do it or enough regardless or money - it's not.
A lot of ethical things don't cost money but more incremented time and other accumulated gesture (even token gesture accumulate / open up things)

And if your family isn't doing the homework (talking between them / training how to talk / therapy and listening etc) then you're raising a family that is also not good enough by these more-human measurements. People commonly empty all their life into people who just do the same while everything goes downhill... not all your fault but money only isn't the answer either.

Let's see what your next reply is - considering these things.

@stormbringer Your talking out of context suddenly or jumping to bigger without the details with this one.

@stormbringer
I did ask what you would rate yourself as in the ethical things listed....

If you're not interested in answering the question more directly just say or don't reply.

You started good - let's see if you can do a better reply 📉

I think has his ways however missed a big trick: using the fans more directly and even talking to them directly as it's a human movement (not just a 'computer programming' solution lol)

So without knocking him or it all:

it's basically human thing (human behaviour or alignment of principles) as the onion skin layer over the computer thing...

People are at the heart of everything so just 'talking to computers' or talking via text and computers seems to make that as a limitation very clear and even compound it!

Sorry !

@stormbringer
So sssuming that's perfectly true...

What of the ethical things of giving back; decision making, do our homework on what's happening or what we use, listening, caring for others, protesting and doing something about something etc?

Do you think people have done well in that?...
(perhaps consider yourself in those departments because talking about others might be speculation or unspecific)...

An economy without true wellbeing and human welfare in mind?

An economy without true well-being and human welfare in mind (more than profit) is a false economy for humans/

I personally assume humans want for more than just profit to the top people of work trees. Or maybe don't realise yet why money is not enough in the ethical and other areas of care...

Humans have gradually become the dominant species, however, have not equally contributed back (in the mind also not just physically)

YOU might not have given back or even considered this (mind and physical matter).

/ / is good but more is needed!.

Easy to assume that the / / resources and overall smart design will somehow ensure sustainability / surviving.

Noooo not only the end user stuff - something more is needed and I admit asking the people with matches 🔥🌲🔥 isn't working (asking / protesting doesn't solve it)

" as fuels run out, incomes will shrink along with the supply "

- Richard Douthwaite , Ecological Economics, 2011

We need a way for the truth and real statistics!

Part of the is the lack of clarity about resources - not even the scarcities - just actual real stats.

We need a way for the truth and real !

Even if "sensitive" it seems we can't have 0 data or trust the government or rely on media representation...

We need a way for the truth.

MY COMMENTS & NOTES :📋
================

" Cement makes almost as much Co2 " + the fuel for it's transport (diesel oil)

+ sand aggregate (added energy) also mined and transported using diesel oil

Imagine all the buildings, schools etc - THAT IS A LOT OF CEMENT

❓ WHAT'S THE COST OF THAT TO EARTH?

1 TON OF CEMENT = ABOUT 1 TON OF CO2
