Norad does a fine job tracking Santa -- Sometime around 1979, our rock mechanics graduate students visited the Norad facilities to look at the rock. Norad is located deep underground at an undisclosed location somewhere in Canada. :)
The great thing was that they were terrified of replacing their tube computers, with something using transistors. There were two computers, each taking up the space of a huge room. Everyday, the technicians would switch and over-volt one. Tubes that blew out would be replaced. The remaining tubes would last a whole day. The replacement standing in the wings was the size of a washing machine.

#weather Good Morning Toronto -- Merry Christmas. Today we wake up to a marginal white Christmas. Should be 2cm on the ground, but we're at 1.9. The radar shows that any second now, we'll top the requirement. :)

Epilogue - Sadly, the schnook died a homeless pauper, begging for coins from BMW's. The root cause was demonstrated to the influencers by the Great Feynman who dipped an o-ring into his Scotch on the Rocks. They raised their eyebrows and immediately flipped to the 'Stupidity Defense'. "Why did we not know about this?" He died shortly after, being smashed by a selfie death off a cliff. :(

We all had to see this as nuclear engineers. It's a lesson buried in 'unlearned' history. In summary, all 'scientists' just assumed things, that they knew nothing about. This is true 'scientific consensus'. The poor schnook physics guy was crucified for not laying his body on the shuttle launch rails. That is why I don't recommend physics for anybody. Leads to early death. :)

#weather #physics Power fails at only -44C. This is good physics - copper shrinks in the cold. However, I think they have been deluded by the past warm cycle. They should read Jack London.

#weather #physics The physics of Toronto weather is that it is 'moderated' by the Great Lakes. Thus, we are 'tropical' with a wind chill of -26C. Those of you without lakes might be a tad colder. :) Using 'evil physics' Toronto will hit -30C this year, once the lakes freeze up. This is pipe-freezing weather. :(

#physics NASA doubles down. They are still going with the 'long term trend' which is like saying Bitcoin is still rising. However, they could never say 'it's sinking' because that would hit their popularity. I've always found that if an institution 'can't' say anything, they won't. :)

#physics #weather A blob within a blob. Very interesting weather (an ancient curse). Two ocean plumes have penetrated, and we have an even colder blob cutting into our current one. Get the plastic on those windows!

#weather Toronto storm not much. All the kids were going to Harry Potter downtown, and we were worried. But they all took transit and everything is running smoothly. I'm going to bed. :)

Son's electric car had the charging port freeze up.
