Some people in the UK now reduced to eating pet food and trying to heat food up on a radiator. This is where we are in 2022 and the most sickening thing about this is that it's all completely unnecessary. What have we become?

I hold the philosophical position that if two things are indistinguishable, their difference is irrelevant.
"What if we live in a simulation?" -- irrelevant
"What if you couldn't tell the difference between taking to a computer and a real person?" -- irrelevant
But more precisely, it's begging the question to say "imagine something was indistinguishable, now how would you treat it differently???"
'The UK has gone backwards on its #Covid vaccine capability and preparedness for a fresh pandemic, experts have warned.'
'Dame Kate Bingham, the former head of the UK vaccines taskforce, said the country had lost its leadership, developed in the early months of the pandemic, by weakening its ability to access vaccinations that could tackle new Covid #variants. https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/uk-playing-with-fire-after-covid-jabs-u-turn-warn-scientists-2003300?utm_source=sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Weekly_01.12.22&tpcc=Weekly_01.12.22
A #terrestrial demonstration of why it’s just about impossible to see the #Moon's surface and #stars simultaneously. Tonight the Moon and #Jupiter (a wandering star or #planet) are in #conjunction – well just about. There follow two #images taken with two different #exposure time.

I wanted an instance
- in #english
- with reasonable and #openMinded rule set
- #LGBTQ+ friendly (even if I am not, but most of my #friends are)
- that did not block other #instances, at most muted but open
- with open minded #admins
- with extended functionalities
- #STEM oriented
I ended up with #qoto, pretty happy about it!
Have also considered:
- #Japan, #Linux, #art, #3D, #vfx, #FOSS, #FLOSS, #blender oriented ones.
At #today, would also consider their aderation at the #UnitedFederationOfInstances ( #UFI )

Palm oil is not vegan. Palm oil is the destroyer of the rainforest. It kills the animals that call it home. It takes away the lands of indigenous people. Palm oil is ecocide. If we continue to use this wretched oil, we are complicit in the destruction. Please, #BoycottPalmOil
“There was very little that was written for and about the Canadian Black community, and the presence of Black people as part of Canadian history…It was a passion of mine to see how we could make this happen – to have Black history be part of the curriculum, and Black people acknowledged and celebrated in the Canadian mosaic.”
— Jean Augustine, PC CM CBE, first Black woman elected to Canadian Parliament
Viola Irene Desmond (July 6, 1914 – February 7, 1965) Canadian civil and women's rights activist and businesswoman of Black Nova Scotian descent. In 1946, she challenged racial segregation at a cinema in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia by refusing to leave a whites-only area of the Roseland Theatre. Desmond's case is one of the most publicized incidents of racial discrimination in Canadian history and helped start the modern civil rights movement in Canada.
"I had spent many years pursuing excellence, because that is what classical music is all about... Now it was dedicated to freedom, and that was far more important." -- Ms. Nina Simone
I know all you Europeans love Nina Simone music. But she paid a hellish price for her activism. Never forget that.
6. Imagine coming home & telling your partner that you felt like a demonised, worthless, and like a 2nd class citizen.
Imagine being treated like that, lied to by the centre and by default, the Home Office.
Imagine worrying about whether you've passed or not.
1. The Life in the UK test would be failed by many British people, myself included. The questions are abso-fcking-lutely ridiculous and have zero bearing on the ability to live in the UK.
I mean, 'when was Henry VIII born?'
