@sapphire follow logic. you said internals are the most (or at least super duper extra) important thing. I said ok redesign the rest and lets see how little it changes. you literally show that it turned into a whole different thing, proving that internals are not necessarily that important.
@sapphire I believe I only skipped one small ad hominem, it that part necessary for you to continue?

@freemo I'm not disputing it. You are trying to make this a dispute about particulars of AR, when it was just a minor side point. I already said I accept anything and everything you say about AR, for the purposes of my conversation with you, even if you said it's a BB gun. It amuses me that you fail to see how irrelevant it all is.
@sapphire redesign me the whole rifle keeping the same internals and prove to me how major the internal tweaks were. There is so much more to any firearm design than whether it can full auto or not, or what the trigger mechanism or locking mechanism are. Those things might be relevant for a military who have to push everything to the limit, but when talking about the contrast between military vs sports and hunting those are minor tweaks.
@sapphire it's a minor tweak of a military design, if anything it was made to sell surplus military parts. Rifles designed specifically for sharpshooting competition look much cooler than that. I can invent a sport where you have to hit a target with an artillery, doesn't mean modern artillery is designed for sport.
@ademan who do? police and gangs in countries where gun control is minimal, yeah sure. Most policeman around here don't carry firearms, buttercup. When those things are expensive, makes em really hard to get even on black market. You make them cheaper than toys, well everyone and their granmas would get one.
