Cosa c'hai contro i Pariolini? Io a Parioli ci ho vissuto.

VHF is clearly the normal (Variational) Hartree-Fock.
I'm not so sure about CRT, it could refer to the Crank Resolution Technique

But this is not a solution to the problem, the solution is providing a valid and better alternative.

The fact that they'll be more desirable won't necessarily increase their use.
Currently a lot of people have cars, and definitely most rich people have cars; increasing the price would increase the amount of wealth required to have one and thus decrease the amount of people owning one.

@londubh
So cool, now we just have to dump a bunch of lye and dimethyl sulfoxide in our rivers and heat them up at 120° C and our land water pollution problem will be solved!

I mean, surely cool research in the right direction; but this is nowhere near a solution and I wouldn't sell it so sensationalistically.
To use this process you would first have to isolate the PFAS in water to then destroy them; thus you would have to get the PFAS out of the rivers in the first place, which is the problem that we should solve.
This article provides a way to destroy PFAS that are already isolated; I guess this could be used in production processes that generate PFAS waste, that would be great!

Did they at least prove the presence of a relation or are they modeling just because they found some easy software to do it?

I like drinking wine, it makes my meals better.
I like drinking a beer with friends because I do enjoy the taste and it creates a nice social environment.

If you don't like that, it is fine; but I'd prefer if you didn't attempt to prevent me from doing the things I like to do.

Regarding the utility of alcohol: people can live without alcohol and alcohol can create a lot of troubles.
It surely is cause of many deaths.
However, many other things are also not required to live; we don't only do the bare minimum to survive.
Also climbing mountains doesn't provide any real value: you can train yourself in other ways which are more efficient and safer, however it's a nice activity and I like doing it.
Same could be said for art and so on.

@colinsmatt11
I'll rectify: people will keep consuming alcoholics in public places despite your negative opinion.
I hope you won't meet a lot of people that share your idea and successfully restrict alcohol consumption, or at least that you don't do it in any country I'll live in.
I already lived in Gujarat, where alcohol is banned and I'm now in Spain where alcohol consumption is prohibited in the streets (luckily this is not enforced strictly).
I think the restriction to drinking in the streets is quite awful, you're then forced to drink in bars, which I dislike: much better to drink a beer with friends on a bench in a park rather than in a room filled of random people bumping each other if you ask me.

Today I was talking with a friend in Italy and I mentioned that I rented a flat and I'm renting out the other rooms.
He asked me why I don't buy a flat and do the same.

I do believe he has got a point, since I'm likely going to stay here for some years.
My salary is not very high, but I should be able to get a mortgage for a cheap flat in the center of Santiago.
In Santiago housing is quite expensive, much more than outside the city, however cheap housing is quite scarce, so it should be easy to rent out the rooms if I do so.

However it's not yet clear to me how advantageous this would be; not accounting any expenses and assuming the rooms are rented all the time I should be able to get the monthly mortgage payment through rents and a bit more.
Now I'd like to understand if that bit more that I'm getting will be sufficient to pay for expenses and periods I'm not able to rent.
It could be a bit risky to do so because the down payment would require most of my savings and maybe I'll have to raise some money through friends or family; but I'm quite sure I'd be able to rent out the rooms.

My other concern is that housing outside Santiago is much cheaper, thus I'm not so sure that a house in the center will actually retain it's value in the future.
I do not have a car, thus buying a house outside the city would be senseless.

Do you have advices and resources I could study to make a more reasoned choice?
