why does sam altman always look like his soul got sucked out by some kind of red skull nazi time portal?

@corruptian hah neat. i don’t think it’s the same though because this is the spine:

my dad found a pretty wild medical text at a local charity shop

all these people scrambling to back up their old google analytics data before the whole system gets deleted on july 1. makes me glad i got the process going last week. bet there’s crazy amounts of API requests slamming google right now.

@levisan there’s a reason christmas fruit cakes just have more depth with the rum in there and it’s not bc you’re getting drunk of it (probably)

@levisan it’s pretty hard to mimic the bite and aroma of alcohol in mixed drinks though, which is often why the virgin versions somehow lack something

@alan hark, the hydroone approacheth! ready thy heat pumpes!

@levisan now if you were to spell it “en root” i would judge harshly!

@hllizi @CGdoppelpunkt @shafik honestly, i’m guilty of it too. it’s all too easy to speak without really saying much.

@levisan i dont say it, but it's literally the same thing only in english, so i wouldnt really judge someone for it. plus around here all the big highway reststops are called "ONroute"

I updated my explainer for Manifest V3 and the changes coming to ad blocker browser extensions, since a few things have changed over the past few months. #tech #firefox #chrome #privacy

@levisan hah, i call it a lay-zee desk (as in i lay all zee way down while using it)

one thing i really miss from twitter is the people who would do in-depth threads on history/archaeology/science/trivia topics. do those accounts exist on mastodon?

@CGdoppelpunkt @shafik problem is, “sentence-shaped sentences” is also what humans produce much of the time. chatgpt often makes more sense and says things in a clearer way than many of the people i went to school with and worked with.

@levisan they’re worth it, esp if you wait around for a deal! this one is by monoprice and was less than $60 open box via amazon warehouse. some of them don’t tilt downwards though (like the amazon basics one i had before), so watch for that

My favorite barely noticeable UI detail in Calcish: codebook settings icon. It looks like a standard SF Symbol, but with a twist: it indicates which language features are turned on based on the order of checkboxes.
