a day starting with dish-washing, tidying, then lunch at flux brewery with my friend mark, and then helping go through stuff at my grandpas (he just went into a retirement home), and then various more chores at home. nice to have busy days that aren’t consumed with “work”.

@levisan but i legit didn’t know there were places in rural canada with no water play options. do they not have swim holes in your area? just too polluted?

@levisan soon as i migrated south after the weekend i rejoined these conditions myself. head north?

#Chess death while playing - what a way to go...

@freeschool whoa seriously? must’ve been one intense match…

@levisan you shoulda seen the little kids rafting down the nooks on inflated pool toys, jumping in everywhere, etc. i couldn’t believe no one was getting hurt!

back from falls reserve @ mainland river conservation. loved chilling in the falls (such warm water!)

@NanoRaptor if i recall, i used to wake up to take it at 5am-ish so it’d hit by 7

prepping for a camping trip with some dudes this weekend. what am i gonna forget? so far realized i’d left my toothbrush off the packing list, so that’s a close call.

well, this is annoying. i thought i'd taken the election to do the "quick method" of HST returns for 2023, but turns out i didnt actually submit it, and now i've got to go back and get alll those HST amounts out of my expenses. 😫

oh, actually it's tonight! and this'll be the first time david's touring as his own drummer, which is cool. folks are saying it's giving a whole different feel this time around, and from the video samples, i bet it's a good one.

new "santa cruz" pedro the lion album is one of his best ever i think… hopefully i’m not overselling it — it’s a lot about his childhood experiences, ones which resonate w me. and the production is in my wheelhouse… on first listen it was kinda underwhelming but now i think it kinda clicked.

@levisan hah i think i found this out as an adult too, after asking my aunt about her fruitcake recipe the last time we were having family christmas at my (teetotaler) grandparents house

@levisan i think for folks who drink often you also start to love the boozey part of alc drinks, whereas if you don’t, for most people the noticeable presence of alcohol is off-putting. kinda like spiciness in food.

@notinourname i think this might depend on your instance, as it does search any part of the fediverse your instance knows about, but no instance is gonna know about everything (i guess primarily it knows about accounts its users follows and servers it subscribes to through relays) reddit.com/r/Mastodon/s/xID49x
