A twig of a young elderberry bush. We didn't expect it in this part of the forest, but the power lines suggest the seed came from a bird that sat on the line, gorged on elderberry fruit, and pooped. We like to know where elderberry grows in our area – it makes perfect summer drinks.

Our wetlands have many sources of pungent stuff Pietruszka likes to roll in, so we sometimes call her Stinkerbell, or, in Polish, usrałka.

If all goes well we'll be able to move out of this tiny house in a few months .

Our wetland meadow is almost dry and soon we'll be able to walk here.
