End of a very exhausting day. So exhausting I don't even know if it's Wednesday or Friday, and should I buy beer or whisky.
Hello, weird doggy. How about a shot of vodka?
Witaj, dziwny piesku. Może kieliszek wódki?
Another successful #RuralBroadband installation. Our local assistant was very young and eager to learn. No damage to the cables.
Enjoying the spring while it lasts. Soon it will be scorching and we'll have to hide in a hole until autumn. Or the end of the world, whichever comes earlier.
Shades of green. In the foreground fresh light-green leaves of a horse chestnut, behind it a small-leaved linden, without any leaves yet, but dark-green from common mistletoe growing on it.
Wall base of an abandoned house in the forests of #EasternPoland, overgrown with grasses and small trees. Two remnants of basic necessities of #RuralLife – a kettle and a vodka bottle. #RurEx
Yesterday she was so weak and apathetic that we were going to take her to the vet after the weekend (the nearest vet working 24h i over 60 km away). Today she's back to climbing trees. It was probably a serious case of indigestion. She's supposed to be on diet right now, but both she and we know the rules – climb a tree, get a treat.
Today's #RuralBroadband installation. They've been very patient, they didn't yap at us. It was worth it. They had 2 Mbps DL in the morning, 20 Mbps now. Not bad for a remote rural location surrounded by trees.
All those dogs, and one cat, are strays that came to this place and were not kicked out, but found a warm welcome.
Our #wetlands are drying out. Only a few days ago this meadow was partially covered with water. The white patches in the picture were green algae, growing in flooded spaces between clumps of tall grass.
A small dog for scale.
A great place to leave trash on pickup day.
Usually the trash truck comes to our place, about a kilometre further down the road, but the road is very muddy now, and a large truck stuck on it would block our only way to the world. And the truck drivers are very happy – this saves them about half an hour, and I'm happy to help them a bit in their hard work. Neighbours aren't complaining yet that I make them lazy, but they will.
On many Polesian roads soft shoulders have been replaced with wet shoulders, to make driving more exciting.
Common morel, Morchella esculenta. Reportedly delicious, but a protected species in Polish forests.
Evolution. An ancient aquatic tractor decided to come out of the primordial bog and conquer the land.
Ewolucja. Starożytny traktor postanowił wyjść z prabagna i podbić ląd.

Living in the #wetlands of #Polesia (#Polesie in Polish) in #EasternPoland. Surrounded by #bogs and #forests, trying not to fuck up surrounding nature too much.
Taking care of a small pack of #dogs (most of them rescue dogs) – #IdąPsięta.
#RuralBroadband provider by accident. Starting a small #LoRaWAN project to monitor our wetlands. Coding, mostly in #Python. Luddite.
#Atheist. I don't believe in #science – science is our defence against belief.
Fuck nazis.
I check facts before I toot.
I sometimes toot in Polish.
Zdolny, ale leniwy.
