@linuxgal The few people who have heard a finely-tuned bagpipe disappeared without a trace. [incidentally I just took a quick look at the subject and it turns out bagpipe tuning is a serious industry. fascinating]

Why is it that that scientists who break ranks to tell the truth are in prison, while the people driving climate catastrophe and perpetrating human rights violations, are rewarded with money and power.

Could it be because there is no justice?

managed to make a nice picture of 3 of the feral cats that are living in my garden and garage 🙂

The striped cat is the mother of the other two 🙂 the two black ones are born last year in spring. I got the whole lot spayed and neutered last weekend, they are now finally showing up again :-) since they where back from the vet they where mostly hiding.

One day of school...
Photo from the school shelter. The first lesson began and the air alarm sounded. In the photo, Seva is smiling because children like to skip classes.
Again I meet the tired look of the teacher and her words: "we couldn't study again". #stoprussia

You can find me at home tonight, polishing my snow shovel.

This year, so far, I bought a pair of pants. Nothing last year.

In celebration of #WorldWildlifeDay, here are a few shots of some our amazing animals in Canada. This year's #WorldWildlifeDay theme is "Partnerships for Conservation" and to that end, let me encourage everyone to check out and support Exposed Wildlife Conservancy and the amazing work they do!

It's fascinating how some commentators are reacting to a dip in EV sales, as if their rapid growth has ended

Perhaps not coincidentally, I'm reminded of this chart…

Yesterday I was at my local Starbucks explaining NFTs to random customers (as I do every Thursday) and someone said NFTs are dumb. I took out my phone and showed them a picture of a cartoon squirrel. I said "Oh yeah? I spent $4,000 on this bad boy. What if I sell it for more? How dumb will NFTs be then?" Everyone stood up and clapped. The manager said I get free Frappuccinos for life.

@enron @drwho Worrying yes. "The pandemic is over", no, it's just started for the next 300 years.

Buckle up & batten down the hatches, the landing's going to be rough.

(Sanitary measures should be built into our everything going forward, they'll be necessary.)

@lispi314 Germans have a good word for this – jein – which means both yes and no. The hornets usually have a nest under are roof, but don't eat the walls. Yet. If they ever start, I'll start looking for ways to remove them. But I won't use fire.

@lispi314 I've learned to live with them – we don't bother them, they don't bother us. Same with hornets :)

Years ago, I worked at a Tim Hortons and was told that cops got their orders for free. I was much more naive then and thought this meant the generosity extended to firefighters and paramedics. When I was caught giving free coffee to paramedics and reamed out about it, that’s when I understood it was a protection racket. #ACAB #ProtectionRacket #Bribery
