#RuralBroadband installation assistant. She was a very good assistant. 30 Mbps in an area where rows of old trees tend to block the signal. 11/10.
In the morning this house had 3 Mbps download at most. We replaced previous provider's terminal with a pretty similar one, raised it just by 2 metres, and now they have 25 Mbps – more than they need. #RuralBroadband is not easy, but we do what we can.

It appears a lot of people don't understand the implications of laws like Utah's -- which will extend beyond the state, and be copied by many other states -- involving limits on children accessing social media. In order to prevent children from creating social media accounts by themselves, it is required that *ALL* users of social media be identified via government IDs. This is literally the beginning of Chinese-style control and tracking of ALL Internet usage here in the U.S. Nothing less.

#academic #scientificdata We have loads of data around the lab. It's challenging knowing who has what where. Is there some (#freesoftware, #Python preferred) tool so that we can organise this? Should allow listing and querying metadata and hopefully, retrieving stuff via web. Chaos of formats including geospatial as well as CSV etc @pybonacci
