The word "Aufzug" can mean:

- elevator, lift
- attire, clothing

So, the sentence "Ihr Aufzug ist ausgefallen" can mean:

- "Your lift is out of order."

or

- "Your get-up looks fancy."

I get many Instagram apologists telling me, "You don't get Instagram."

No, I do -- I just disagree with the point.

I don't like walled gardens that try to control what I do.

I don't like web apps that push me to use mobile clients.

I don't like systems that require log-ins to check up on friends

Basically, Instagram is a big dumpster fire -- and I jumped for joy when Pixelfed became a thing.

Discovered during the week I was unable to access a Kindle book purchased in 2013. Reason? The order was “too old”, and refund issued to buy again. Which was pointless as the book is now more expensive than when I bought it.

Subsequently discovered 66(!!) other ebooks no longer available for download.

Currently 40 minutes in to a support chat with Amazon.

About to learn, I think, whether we purchase ebooks, or rent them…
