This is bitter-sweet for me.

On one hand, so glad to see them have a new site, finally! The old site was a mess.

On the other: I had designed and built the infra that hosted their site through Panama Papers (arguably OCCRP's big break). Infra that did not rely on external CDNs or "DDoS-protection" providers.

That infra is no longer in use as of today. Replaced by Google. 🥲

Tak sobie myślę, że z tymi kotami to była naprawdę jakaś siła wyższa.

- Zobaczyłam je przez okno z 10 piętra. A ja nawet nie stoję często przy oknie, a szczególnie nie rano.
- Chociaż zawsze wszystko rozkminiam jak pojebion, wtedy coś mnie pociągnęło tam bez myślenia. Ubrałam się i poszłam.
- Udalo się złapać wszystkie 3. Konkubent cudem usłyszał Bobcia na wieczornym spacerze.
- Udało się dobry znaleźć dom dla dziewczyn bez rozdzielania ich.

Strasznie dużo tych zbiegów okoliczności. 🥹

Pamiętacie może wspólną petycję @icd oraz @panoptykon w sprawie skryptów śledzących Big Techów na stronach rządowych? Albo może moją petycję w sprawie wykorzystania otwartoźródłowego i sprawdzonego oprogramowania do uruchomienia oficjalnej rządowej instancji (niech już będzie nawet Mastodon)? Albo jeszcze poprzednią petycję ICD, która powstała w ramach konsultacji społecznych z dnia 2023.12.20, o której postępie wciąż nie wiedzą mimo wysłania zapytania w kwietniu do ministerstwa? Prawda jest taka, że ministerstwo cyfryzacji zlało zarówno fundacje ICD (dwukrotnie!) oraz Panoptykon, jak i mnie.

Doskonale pamiętamy słowa Gawkowskiego z 14 grudnia 2023 roku wypowiedziane na łamach portalu wyborcza.biz: “Zdanie Big Techów będzie na samym końcu”. Co się stało 6.5 miesiąca później? Gawkowski nagle zmienił kurs i pojechał do Stanów Zjednoczonych spotkać się z przedstawicielami Big Techów, twierdząc że “amerykańskie korporacje są ważne w zachowaniu bezpieczeństwa cyfrowego w Polsce”. Te wartości, które proklamuje obecna kadencja MC to o kant potłuc co najwyżej.

Dzisiaj czytam artykuł na Cyberdefence24 o ewentualnej publikacji kodu źródłowego mObywatela, który miał zostać udostępniony w przeciągu maksymalnie 12 miesięcy w BIPie. Tymczasem podglądowa strona na Azure Websites (który to należy do Microsoftu, czytaj amerykańskiego big techu) mówi o… GitHubie, który też należy do Microsoftu. Pomijając ten fakt, redakcja Cyberdefence24 też zapytała ministerstwo o oficjalne stanowisko. Do publikacji tego artykułu - brak odpowiedzi.

Podsumowując: another day, another Gawkowski “nienawidzę big techów, ale będziemy z nich korzystać bo tak” moment.

then I have a request, I am a trans woman, with a bachelors in computer engineering, I am competent in many areas including linux server stuff, networking, programming mostly in python or java, low level code (in c, Rust), microcontrollers and some PCB design, and I like making things, etc, I can also pick up new things quickly.

I need a job, but it needs to be one that is open to helping me with a visa since I'd have to move over

I've been applying to places, but positions that offer visa sponsorship are very limited, and I don't have years of experience, I don't wanna be stuck here, so, would appreciate help with that.
