Hey every conference everywhere: Every time needs a timezone on it.
I don't wanna look up "where" your conference is, there is no "where" anymore.
Please put the timezone on every time listing.

"9:00" is about as meaningful as "to the left"

Mattermost ships in @gitlab 14.7 with with private channel autocomplete, click to reply to a thread, ability to follow Playbook runs, Boards calendar view and at-mention autocomplete, and more! twitter.com/gitlab/status/1484

But in Clojure, state is represented by immutable values. No part of the program can manipulate values. The problem encapsulation solves simply doesn't exist.

The code needs less indirection, fewer permissions, and less incidental complexity. It's almost magically simpler.

A demonstration of and power: I have a PDF with difficult-to-write foreign characters. Record macro: copy my (emacs) PDF selection, switch to other frame and window, paste and restructure the yanked text. Part of my PDF-to-HTML project.

A worthwhile thread with some good advice. I particularly like the bits about experience and neuroplasticity . threadreaderapp.com/thread/148

. What other languages have destructuring, out of curiosity?
---
RT @lambdaisland
Destructuring is very powerful, but don't overdo it. Mixing styles and destructuring multiple levels at once will make your code hard to read.

What are your tips for keeping your Clojure code easy to follow?

Just had my team meeting and we discussed routing, something I didn't learn until I actually did Clojure Fullstack. Front end routing, with interceptors, and back end routing with middleware.

RT @pavel_klavik
@maximehugodupre Just learn with orgpad.com/s/clojure-tutorial. Now you can target Java, JS (both browser and NodeJS), and many other places (C#, Python, ...). The language is awesome and 10x more powerful than anything else.

Have you ever created a great keyboard macro, but wanted to add a few more keystrokes at the end?

`C-u F3` will run the keyboard macro, and start recording any additional keystrokes until you press F4!

💡 Did you know you can change the accent color of elements such as radios or checkboxes?

RT @girba
This.

“Monolith” denotes a deployment unit, not an organizational one.

If you want to split a system to better manage it, you are likely looking for constraints, not a different deployment method. twitter.com/mstine/status/1390

That sick feeling in your gut when you discover a bug in a library that makes you think that no one else has ever used it 😕

insight of the moment: apparently styling an :li as grid causes its bullet to disappear. That took an annoying amount of debugging. List bullets are the worst.

RT @mitchellh
This just happened and is a great example of what I call "chat literacy." Red identified "please add me" could easily be taken negatively, and made their intent clear in parens. This is a critical pattern that remote team members need to foster healthy comms through a text medium

RT @levie
The vision of web3 is that we get all the same innovation of today’s web, but with the new benefit that we can “own” our data in a public and immutable blockchain, using this data across multiple apps. It’s a great vision, but might be harder than we think.
