Struggling with some here. I need a selector, ":before me, unless I have some class"

How many people here are new to and would find it useful to have an Intro to Clojure session as a preparation for the course?

As a developer, how do you react to a mistype? What if it's not just a typo, but a shortcut that does something unexpected?

A combination of the these? Comment?

@Endless_WebDev @_jonesian Similar to how omakase is a meal curated by a chef, Rails is contains libraries curated by the creators/maintainers.

@insurgentem Massive army of humans -- like, say, China? I wonder if crowdsourcing in general might be a thing there

@veer66 are they the same content? I have never done YouTube Shorts either

@insurgentem It's only a matter of time before they catch up on the profiling, though.

So, tik tok might be good in a controlled desktop browser? Or is it like instagram, phone only?

So conflicted on whether to get in to tik tok. Everyone is sharing stuff from there these days, but it is in a head-to-head battle with FaceBook for which is less trustworthy with respect for data privacy

To self: do I "fold" cases or do I "flatten" them? language problems in mnemonics.

I thought it was wise to put all my meetings into just one or two days, to free up time and avoid transitions. Maybe I'll feel that way tomorrow. But for now, entering hour 7 of Tuesday Meetings is what long days are made of...

Today is my first day at sovasage.com/ and I'm looking for some good and developers! I'd love to hear from you. :)

Revised asdf upgrade guide:

1. `rm -rf ~/.asdf/`
2. Close all shells.
3. `tmux kill-server`
4. In new shell, verify `$ASDF_DIR` unset.

If it continues to fail:

5. Dig hole. Place computer inside.
6. Douse with gasoline.
7. Light on fire. Run away.

I just (finally) finished the Pragmatic Programmer. For a portion of it I was amazed: I knew it all, because it was boxed in the Clojure or the clear idiom of the community. Then it got bigger, talking teams, project design, and, finally, delighting the users. Delight the users!

Hmm. I have a lot of respect for theller's work, but isn't shadowcss github.com/thheller/shadow-css just reinventing the wheel? I love using gardencss for gen, and it works great cljc. github.com/noprompt/garden

A fun thread addressing someone's fears that devs get pigeonholed. TL;DR: no, but they do get spoiled.

I use `(M-x find-grep)` daily, which makes an interactive interface over regular grep results. It just funnels a regular `find` and `grep` command, so you can include any regexps you want there.

I haven't tried rgrep. Is it like the Silver Searcher, just grep but faster?

@zack_teo @the_lazy_folder @nonrecursive @russolsen Brave Clojure is accessibly written -- I make it the first homework for my student employees -- but its initial recommendation of emacs may not be an accessible choice. I say that fondly, as a hardcore emacs user but conscious of the educational burden it brings
