formulaic changes need to be made to some repeating content: 3 different #emacs options:
1. Replace [regexp] heavy lifting. Can perform actual functions on match groups.
2. Macros. Easiest: hit "record", do you thing in such a way as to be ready for the very next one, save/repeat. Can be saved as a function if you love it.
3. Multiple Cursors. One-off, but the quickest if you can see your targets on the screen and don't want to think about more steps.

I'm pretty sure this command is coolest commands in #emacs Magit (@magit_emacs):
`C-c M-g t': Traces the function/defun point is in (or on, depending on where you invoke it.)
You get a complete git log history tracing all the changes made to that function. Awesome!

I can't find documentation anywhere on how to get a per -project PostGres (using the -D data directory option) to listen on the usual port. The only thing I read out there uses Unix sockets, which aren't good for me. I can't find docs anywhere!

You don't need to use other people's servers on Mastodon or the Fediverse. Anyone can set up their own server, even non-technical people. It's much easier than you think, and much cheaper too.

There is this old idea of "let's make code more like natural language" [ie English]. I'm confronted with one minor language that was based on that ideal, and I laugh. I studied linguistics and rhetoric; "code like natural language" doesn't even mean anything, and there is no universe in which it would be an actual good idea. I suspect that these idealists are mostly American, as here we have a special sort of linguistic ignorance.

I must admit, the way Spotify knows which track and where in the track you are on which device, even between my web browser, chromecast, and my phone app, is very impressive. What tech underlies that success?

This article makes some great points. In my case, using GardenCSS and hotloading for my custom stuff, and Bulma for my general stuff that I want ensured against devices and edge-cases, is just beautiful. @veer66 That makes sense. But they are incompatible, right? If I want to combine teaching and project teams, I can't combine those two approaches to PHP, can I?
It's not that I care whether it's called "master" or "main". I just hate having my branch names dictated by some faceless entities in the name of non-technical issues of which I want no part. Especially with the wasted retcon.
