"One little known fact that I found about using Clojure, is that it is an excellent language for implementing published algorithms in academic papers."

There are still people who can’t understand that wearing a mask in public transport is just a sign of politeness in COVID times…

Orgs supporting NFTs and crypto: Twitter, Discord and Adobe (Big Tech, centralised)
Projects opposing it: Mastodon, Zulip and Kritta (open source, decentralised)
If you think crypto and NFTs will democratise the internet, wonder why Big Tech likes it and decentralised OS doesn't

Clojurians Zulip aggregates slack, clojureverse, reddit, and stack overflow Clojure items, and puts them all in a readable email for me so I don't need to "check" those sights but can read and visit directly what is interesting. Gotta say, this is a huge advantage to my workflow!

Well, Fridays have always been my date night...

I’m choosing to spend my Friday evening working with dates in JavaScript.

Have I COMPLETELY lost my mind?!?

On Linux you can do this to set a default java version/jdk:

update-alternatives --list java # list it
update-alternatives --display java # see default
sudo update-alternatives --config java # choose a new
man update-java-alternatives # read docs twitter.com/vwbusguy/status/14

10 years of programming Clojure isn't long enough to remember which way around the less-than and greater-than symbols go.

Macrobrew gets a deref mention. It's been a good week.

On a serious note, the community has been very welcoming to me and I'm grateful for that.

I couldn't imagine being featured in a language's official newsletter.

Saturday on the @reClojure workshops series: James Tolton will demonstrate when, why, and how to compile Clojure code into a shared library that can be called natively by CPython (no runtime JVM required!).

Great thread and interview with Furkan. He is one of these persons, when you cross paths with, that you feel fortunate that it happened. ❤️ twitter.com/furkan3ayraktar/st

1/5 is by far the best language I have ever worked with, and I have worked with many over the past decade. 🧵

I made a mistake. I switched to imap and set the script to download all messages. I forgot that the script runs on a Cron every 5 minutes, and the process is something like a 2 hour download. Since a new grabber would start before the old one was even close to finishing, the math says I got something like 24! duplicates. Okay, it can't be that many since my hardrive still functions. But suffice it to say, it was many. Now I'm taking suggestions an email duplicate cleanup solutions.
