@tutam @eikofried Forever amused that this isn’t a call to action:
“Academics write articles for Elsevier journals for free and hand over copyright; other academics review and edit these papers for free; and Elsevier then sells these papers back to academics.”
Particularly because most academics and their libraries are funded by the taxpayer. Ludicrous. https://albert.rierol.net/tell/20210306_be_paid_for_publishing_scientific_papers.html
BofA is now on my boycott list ➡️
“A collection of several banks — including Morgan Stanley, Bank of America and Barclays — have lent Musk more than a quarter of the funding, or $13 billion.”

ByteDance used TikTok to track my location — and the locations of two of my colleagues — to try to find our sources. We reported on this back in October, but kept things vague to protect sources. Today ByteDance admitted it, so we can say much more:

🇬🇧 The draft EU #CSA scanner #ChatControl regulation threatens free software, warns @khaleesicodes . App stores such as F-Droid and repositories of open source software such as the Arch Linux distribution could be required to verify the age of all users, which is hardly feasibly. https://netzpolitik.org/2022/chatkontrolle-akute-gefahr-fuer-offene-software/
Reminder that if you're feeling lonely today, see this hashtag:
➡️ #JoinIn
There are lots of people (myself included) keeping each other company on there, with all kinds of posts from hot chocolate recipes to historical photos to horses covered in tinsel to just general thoughts and chatter.
You can use the hashtag however you want, serious or fun, and anyone using the tag is welcoming of replies and discussion so it's a great way of striking up a conversation.
See you there! ☃️

@zleap@diode.zone @Jodene_Lea Just added a video about lists.
Great work there, thanks for this, I will make a video showing BOTH methods later. People then can work out which is better for them.

So why is it that moderte followers of religion never seem to really speak out vocally against the extream forms of their religion?
This seems to be happening across different religions, not just Islam.
@quixoticgeek
Sounds like a really good idea, I am boosting to help reach.
I don't think this is getting the coverage it needs. Scottish government to require passivhaus standard for all new build homes. This is big. Really big. Growing out of lessons from the 70's oil crisis. Passivhaus buildings use very little energy to heat, or to cool. We've known how to do this for decades. It's gross negligence from all western governments that the same is not true of all new builds in the developed world.
Good question, after some clicking around randomly I think the process is as follows
1 Go to lists
2 Click on a list
3 In the right and corner of that box, there is a show settings
4 Click show settings, you should then see edit list
In the edit list you can add people by searching the search box will cover up the one under it, clicking on the one under it seems to remove the search box.
Best I can do here, I will try and make a video later to illustrate the process.
Does seem rather er, complex at first

@JMBagniewska Looks nice,
I took this picture 14 years ago - and now, thanks to the hashtag #Mosstodon, it will hopefully get the recognition it truly deserves!
Sounds like the right decision, however the situation should be monitored, and IF the situation does improve, review the decision to block.
