American universities are banning TikTok on campus networks, following the state ban due to fear of Chinese surveillance.

I agree 💯

The thing is, TikTok is not only a Chinese surveillance app, it is also the biggest tool the CCP uses to manipulate and influence the western youth.

Finnish kids have seen their accounts suspended after talking about Uyghurs. Random violence campaigns against strangers on the streets go viral on TikTok frequently.

CCP has restricted the local version of TikTok, Douyin, because it is deemed unhealthy and detrimental for the Chinese youth. The Chinese TikTok recommends healthy activities and enforces time limits to prevent addiction.

In the west, TikTok is the most addictive app in existence, force-feeding our youth with content that causes addiction, body image issues, depression, and loneliness. What's worse, it encourages violent behavior.

For the sake of the mental health of a whole generation, western governments should enforce TikTok to use similar usage limits and content recommendation algorithms in the west as it uses already in China.

@aral Where I live we have some of these book benches as a sort of tribute to a local company called Ladybird which made iconic early reader books for kids. They look great but I can confirm that they are massively uncomfortable to sit on for more than a couple of minutes! #HostileArchitecture
