I've heard many reasons- I'm not sure on a single generalisation.

The formerly unemployed I know if personally are taking advantage of the openings being made.

I wouldn't be surprised if immigrants, refugees and other desperate people started picking up where other people left off.

Rumors are that legislation will soon pass that unless people prove they were actively job hunting, they'll have to pay back unemployment via tax returns.

for two years i've been developing a project known as MegaGRRL. it's a portable sega genesis music player that uses the original sound chips, and plays VGM files from an SD card.

the portable version is still in development, but recently i designed a simplified, desktop version of the player, and i'm happy to announce that the schematic, PCB, firmware, and 3d print design files for MegaGRRL Desktop are now available for anyone to build.

All this bitching about saying "biological male" instead of "cis" is stupid bc the former is practically the definition of the latter, hence why I used it in context of the main points of the post.
How is saying "biologically male" in a critique of someone's dislike of men any different at a glance than saying "same gender as sex", which is the definition of "cis" afaik.

This reminds me of the stupidity of "colored people" vs. "people of color" phrases. We are told the latter is more progressive than the former? Lol, wut? They're the same thing.

All these above examples of the policing & dictating of words is just ingrained in us to muddy conversation's main points & start needless hostility between groups.

@zleap I'm all for doing things "better" and "cleaner". I actually personally believe in keep my footprint clean and small. I recycle, my husband who is an avid hunter and outdoorsman has never used any kind of weed killer or other chemicals in our yard because of the little creek and lake behind our house. I hate clutter so I'm not much of a consumer in general. I LIVE my principles.

idk how people can sit down and play video games for hours at a time. i sit down a play a video game for 30 mins to 1 hour and go "hmm i am satisfied for now :)" then i go and do something else. how are you people like this.

Western Digital drives seem to require Windows to update firmware. Even though they could provide transparent updates via https://fwupd.org/
