Just a reminder, bread is made from wheat, wheat is a plant, therefore bread is a vegetable. Also French fries and corn chips are also vegetables.
You're welcome.
@caranmegil That will amount to a full day's servings of veggies! Glad to see your eating healthy.
@freemo Well actually,
the part of wheat used for bread is the seeds, therefore
bread is a fruit.
:^)
(not to be confused with breadfruit)
@codepuppy Technically fruit isnt seeds, though fruit often has seeds inside. An apple isnt an apple seed.
Only correct logic will be accepted at this dumpster fire of a post, sorry.
@freemo if they're not fruit, why're they called wheat *berries*? 8)
@codepuppy Wheat are a type of fruit, as are all kernels (like corn), but seeds are not fruit in general is what I should have said.
@freemo Ahhh I see; it is the bran that is the difference.
So it only applies to that which is made of the seed *and* the bran.
So whole wheat bread is a fruit, but white bread is a vegetable! \:D/
@icedquinn @freemo *pays in loaves of breadfruit* >:3
@freemo So, anything made from a plant is a vegetable? Beer? Vodka? Wooden wall?
@freemo
That makes potato vodka = vegetable juice
@lucifargundam I detect no lies.
@freemo
This also means a blt us just a flat salad...
@lucifargundam all sandwichs are just salads. A salad with meat on it is still a salad :)
@freemo That would imply that all plants are vegetables.
@trinsec By definition all edible plants are vegetables. The definition of a vegetable is as follows: "a plant or part of a plant used as food, typically as accompaniment to meat or fish"
In any proper texan resterant the plates are edible and made of formed meat, and if you order vegetables it is just imitation vegitables made out of meat shapped and flavored to look like a vegetable. As vegetarians will tell you though they can tell the difference between the faux veggies and the real stuff because the faux veggies, despite the processing, still have have some flavor.
>"In any proper texan resterant the plates are edible and made of formed meat..."
Texas has more practicing cardiologists than any other state in the US. Just a coincidence, I'm sure.
I'm going to monitor this thread until someone brings up the difference between a botanical vegetable and a culinary vegetable. (oops, I just did.)
@Pat Not a coincidence at all. Cardiologists are known to love a good steak!
@freemo@qoto.org I will now order 3 lbs of french fries and consume them without issue.
