Good news for #QOTO. We are now being funded by some donated resources, both money and developers. We will essentially have a full-time server administrator and a part-time developer to advance the QOTO software. They will be starting January 1st.
This should allow us to start adopting many of the features we have wanted to bring in that people have been requesting.
@bibliolater First step will be to port over the translation feature and the in-line toot editing feature mainline mastodon got.
After that we plan to do a feature with regards to block lists where the server can block other servers but users can opt to ignore the recommended block list if they want.
@bibliolater I suspect that should be fixed in the next release.
@freemo Thank you for the information. Is there a timeline for when next update is likely to be released?
@bibliolater Not a hard one just yet. Depends how quickly my system admin can learn the ropes, as well as our programmer.
That said they start working january first, they will have stuff to do other than QOTO, but QOTO will be part of their duties.
My **hope** is we will see the next release sometime in January, probably towards the end.
@bibliolater @freemo if the aim is "make it work with all Tusky features" that'd be a win
@freemo
1. Do you block Threads?
2. Will you enable the possibilty to block instances peesonaly?
3. When will you enable the possibilty to edit send posts?
> 1. Do you block Threads?
I dont personally block threads, nor does the server. Right now we dont block too many servers. That said once we add the feature for users to opt-out of instance level server blocks then we might block threads by default.
> 2. Will you enable the possibilty to block instances peesonaly?
You already can, you can personally block any instance you want.
> 3. When will you enable the possibilty to edit send posts?
Yes this is one of the first and highest priority features.
@freemo I seem not to be able to block instances myself.
@sergeant What error do you get?
@freemo No error. I just don't see that feature.
@sergeant Go to a user on an instance you want to block, click on them so their profile shows up in QOTO. Then click the three dots next to follow and select "block domain"
@freemo I'll keep this answer saved to my favorites.
If the time comes to block an instance, I'll follow your guidance.
Thanks for the help. 👍
@josemanuel @freemo That I know. But it alters the timeline.
@freemo @peterdrake Thanks for taking this on and making it run more and more smoothly!
@freemo
Edit posts after posting initially?
@tatzelbrumm Yup that one is the top priority.
@freemo great new years present
@freemo Tequila Tuesdays? Employees have to drink tequila from 0600 hours during the work day.
Thunderdome Thursdays? You sound like a good boss.
@freemo Would you be able to give us a preview as to some of the new features we can expect on #QOTO?
