@izaya well possible for some subsets of program. I'm thinking of programs that could be represented by a lookup table

I eat raw lemon "flesh", but have only eaten the peel, pith, and a couple pips cooked (and I didn't like it).
@pounce so, they have some proprietary components and distribute under a non-open source license. I wouldn't say that's disqualifying if it's substantially open code. it doesn't make it a "scourge on humanity" either.
still don't see your point regarding other editors. that all seems like a problem for people who make cross-editor plugins: that's a pretty narrow group, nah?
@pounce
> hasn't been open source until last month
what are you talking about? it's been MIT licensed for years
I don't even know what you mean about "pushing other editors out of the way". last I checked, I can still use vim, notepad++, intellij, ...
The Rocket Ranch: Episode 7: Turning Space Trash into Gas http://www.nasa.gov/mediacast/episode-7-turning-space-trash-into-gas
it took me way too long to pick up on the "joke" of OSCAR
This rock almost looked surprised that I was coming back! Thankfully, I was able to collect another sample here to replace the one I discarded earlier. This may be one of the oldest rocks I sample, so it could help us understand the history of this place. #SamplingMars
@pounce why? apparently it works pretty well for a lot of people, especially for js and typescript
I'm trying out #antennapod. so far, it's pretty clunky for my typical usage pattern: paste in an RSS feed URL and play episodes from a point I choose in chronological order. I can at least get there though, which is more than I can say for #VLC.
Use the *median*, not the average, to aggregate individual preferences in one-dimensional domains ⚖️
E.g. "what temperature should we heat the room to?" 🥶🌡️🥵 "how much money should we budget for the project?" 📈 💰 📉
-> incentive for everyone to answer truthfully
-> extreme responses don't skew result (manipulation resistance)
-> theoretically and intuitively evident that most-prefered option ('Condorcet winner') selected
@trinsec 😛that's not what it means and you know it 😆

very cool interview. I think that quote, "Nothing is more important than what you are doing right now," will stay with me. I don't have an ops and planning team behind everything I do, but I often find myself working on subordinate, sometimes fairly boring, tasks in service to a larger goal. keeping the attitude suggested by that quote really helps to bolster my spirits for such things
@mathew well, I commented as a software engineer and user of interactive Internet services: it was fun!
#copyright claims on config files are so stupid and probably not even enforceable but we add them anyway and i hate it
