Tricky video/imaging quesiton....
I have files I need to convert to vector files from raster files... is there a way to do this without messing up the quality of the images? The online free stuff seems to make the images look like looking through the bottom of a glass bottle...
I decided to create a new account here to focus on my #art work.
Here is my self #introduction :
I’m a plant pathologist, and painting #watercolor is one of my hobby. Since I study fungi, I have special interest in #BotanicalIllustration of fungi, and I also do plants. I like cooking and food, so I also have interest in #FoodIllustration. Sometimes I do some random sketches.
Living in Sweden with my husband and two awesome #cats .
Looking forward to making more friends here!

@neonkaaa I think parasitic gestures is an interesting phrase I've never seen before.
anyway, I'm scrolling in both directions often enough to see things I missed as well as new stuff, so it seems a non-issue to me
Dear #Scipy, #Python, and #GraphTheory experts, I want to find a sparse distance matrix of a subgraph, using #CSR matrices. I appreciate any ideas, here are the details: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/72184296/run-a-multiple-source-dijkstra-to-the-k-closest-sinks-via-a-scipy-csr-matrix?stw=2.
@neonkaaa I guess I understand your meaning, but in tusky, the longer ones are truncated until you expand them, and usually I open the toot on it's own view then back out... does that help any?
@naturesketchbook I should have asked if you start with the photo, or if it's *just* to get the details
@naturesketchbook cool! so you draw from photographs? your own? I'd be amazed if you aren't--I generally can't find birds that stay still long enough for even a photograph, let alone a sketch
Since some of you asked: my illustrations are mostly done in watercolor and colored pencil, and for these detailed scientific paintings I often use references like photos.
I also love to keep a sketchbook and field sketching, I find it is so valuable to explore nature directly, and record my everyday observations in one place. This in turn helps me again with scientific details.
Below are a few sketchbook outtakes.

I think they're actually resting in the covered space before my front door. I'm surprised there's any comfort in that for them, but glad if there is.
I saw "Russian Doll" (the Netflix show) finally. I liked it. The stuck in a time loop trope is one I pretty much always enjoy as long as they do something interesting with it, and the emotional connection being the key, although there's not a super good reason for it (or a lot of it, really), was ultimately rewarding.
one criticism though: I'm not sure any of the writers has ever been in a code review meeting or asked a software engineer how one would be conducted. i don't even see a point to that scene
@heatherhorns IDK. in my experience they only look like doors and treasure chests, and just trigger if you try to use them... kinda like those spiders that jump out of their holes or a Venus fly trap
I’m doing a project featuring little-known women of science as a part of my studies as a lab technician.
I’ll be drawing some portraits and illustrating the research and discoveries of some interesting scientists✨
Let’s start!
🧬Nettie Stevens. American geneticist who discovered chromosomes X/Y by studying Mealworms (Tenebrio molitor)

though, honestly, I can implement it easy enough, just not what I think is "the right way"... probably not really the right way anyway. eh
If you need to write HTML for a login or account management site, I got a little tip for you.
The input's "autocomplete" attribute can be more than just "on" or "off"!
You can actually set autocomplete to "username" or "current-password", to help a password manager find the right fields.
In the case of changing passwords, you can set autocomplete to "current-password" or "new-password" to avoid password managers trying to autofill your current password into the new password field.
just spent 4.5 hours on a self-suggested "small matter of programming". so I think I'll just toss this one back into the backlog...

@coldwave welcome back. ✌️ I noticed I hadn't seen you post in forever
