Really interesting story
wnycstudios.org/podcasts/radio

I actually thought of an interview Lex Fridman had with a sleep researcher (probably this one, lexfridman.com/andrew-huberman) about how temperature is a good signal for distributed coordination just before Webster brought up dinosaurs. This is exactly the kind of thing I've been thinking about lately: living systems have all sorts of thresholds like this and we don't know how many of them we're just sidling up to.

I want to make a #tic80 game, but if I do that then the game will need to have an original soundtrack since I can't import something from opengameart.org, and I don't have any skill at all when it comes to composing music.

It's a pretty nice site: you'll be able to see what the funds are spent on and contribute directly to specific things, like studentships

'Finally, I have made the perfect build syntem, i will no longer need to spend time on it, and can now focus on actually making the things to be built with it'

And other hilarious lies you can tell yourself

I wish my local station would play science and culture programs during the day instead of only at night and early morning. these are really fascinating and better than a lot of the domestic stuff they do run...

i know the first thing we're gonna do after finding and science-ing the absolute shit out of some alien computer is port linux to it and then run doom

@izaya sometimes you say something "spins you out": what do you mean by that?

Altruism is weird. I'm maintaining this package. I don't add features or anything because I don't use it anymore myself, but I don't want to just drop it because I know some ppl actually use it. Like, I just spent the better part of my day fixing issues with it when I could have been ... cleaning my house or something.

they say "don't judge a book by its cover" but if that "book" made its own "cover" over many years, it's silly to ignore it completely

I've been squeezing some lime juice into my stir-fry. real game changer. need to explore more ๐Ÿ‹๐ŸŠ
