Meanwhile, because space is weird and distances can be absurd, this is the very best picture we have of the most massive dwarf planet in our solar system, Eris, and its moon:

For over a day now I've been trying to look up the specific orbital range of the asteroid belt only to get lost in wiki binges.

On a related note, did you know we, human beings who have never made it further than our own moon, have this super-detailed map of the second-biggest asteroid in our solar system, chock full of named features?

Meet Vesta:

Sure is nice of Walmart to discount this 3-year-old last generation game 75% from its original price of... $100?

I thought this kind of deceptive shit was illegal.

The sandwich that's guaranteed to keep you single for at least a few more days:

Braunschweiger liverwurst, raw onions, and spicy mustard, on a whole wheat roll.

Yum.

Every time I watch , I catch something new I never noticed before.

This time around, it was in the last episode, "Objects in Space." Did anyone else notice that the oddly-colored planet the ship flies by in the cold open of the episode appears to match the superball River gazes into to close out the episode?

Well, that issue is resolved now. 😂

I love more than the game itself. There's something very zen about slowly sculpting an empty field into a complex series of mountains and rivers.

The past few days, I've been cleaning out and organizing my bookshelves.

After choosing which old video games were deserving of front-row slots, I designed and 3D-printed some new brackets to hold them in place... color-coded to match their console line!

Cannabis

Lmao, this PetMD article goes on and on about how toxic marijuana is for dogs and then when it finally gets to the symptoms list, it's the *exact same as humans*.

Sunny got to experience snow for the first time in his life this year!

Bird site, free speech

I have to call bullshit on this. The comic is correct.

The problem is, when you go to a white supremacist house party, they're going to consider the anti-racists to be assholes and show them the door. That doesn't mean the anti-racists *are* assholes.

The argument in the comic isn't "shallow." It's principled. It applies no matter who is doing the "censoring".

The key is that "censoring" only matters if you respect the opinion of the censor. If you don't, you can just ignore them and their property/platform.

And if there's anyone who still legitimately respects the leadership of Twitter, I've got a bridge to sell you.

Creepy insects

Dear god, what is this horrifying giant grub thing my dog found in the yard?
