Here's the reason I'm so pissed off and sad after last night:

Before the debate, I could say to moderates and disillusioned Republicans (including ones in my family): "Look, I know you don't like Trump, but the best way to get rid of him and get back to normal conservatism is to repudiate him by electing a normal competent leader. You may not always agree with Biden, but you can trust that he's at least stable and smart enough to do the job."

Now, though? The best I can say is "Yeah, both candidates suck, right? Might as well stay home." Because there's no way in hell they'd bite for that first argument anymore.

"Fiercely" is an interesting adjective to choose.

Wow. Biden set the bar so fucking low that Trump was able to blow past it without a single true fact on his side.

Just had an idea for the most viable 3rd party concept in the history of #America:

The NO-SPAM Party. Our platform is simple: We will aggressively pursue any means possible, including executive, legislative, or judicial action, to limit or eliminate unwanted texts, calls, and emails. None of our candidates will ever contact you, unsolicited, for political donations.

On all other issues, we'll defer to the non-weasely career bureaucrats and renowned experts who actually know what the fuck they're doing.

When I was in middle school, I had a shoplifting problem, along with some bad-influence friends. It started small, some M&Ms or binaca (which was weirdly popular in my middle school back then). But, as I kept getting away with it, I kept upping the ante. Eventually, it was my brazenness that got me caught. I thoroughly learned my lesson and never stole again.

I think about that sometimes when I read stories like this about a 43-year-old man sending shamelessly explicit texts to teenage boys... What led to his brazenness?

Man, I need a sequel to The Old Guard already. There just aren't enough movies with two equally strong-but-flawed female protagonists and a gay couple kicking ass.

I don't think I'll ever understand why a "pull request" in git is not called a "push request". I'm not requesting to pull anything. I'm requesting to push my changes to the main branch.
